From the Inside Flap A peek inside Touch of Frost!Frost stood frozen in disbelief watching as the woman lowered the golden mammal in her arms to the ground before she grabbed a small, clear container off the floor. With another series of mumbled words, the contents of the container disappeared. When she finally stood straight again, she was holding the container between the palms of her hands with a look of disgust on her face. Inside was a miniature replica of Taar, now only about five inches high. His throat worked up and down as the female turned her heated gaze on him. He started to stumble backwards when she took a step toward him, her eyes glittering in determination. His vision blurred as she waved her hand at him. Panic gripped him as the world began to grow around him. He tried to turn on his heel, but found he was unable to move as trillions of sparkling lights danced around him for several long, eternal seconds. His eyes closed as he fought with his frozen muscles, trying to get them to obey him. When he opened his eyes, the golden mammal was looking at him, nose to nose. He grimaced when a pink tongue swept out to lick the fur covering his face. Fur! I don’t have… Frost thought for a brief moment before his eyes lit on the reflection in the smoky glass of what looked like a cooking device. With a tentative hop forward, he gazed at his reflection. I… I… His brain rebelled at the same time as he felt a firm, but gentle hand, grab him by the back of his neck and lift him. I have long ears! He thought before his mind shut down and he slipped into an exhausted slumber as soothing words washed over him.*.*.*”Lacey, what the hell do you want me to do with a rabbit?” Theo asked in exasperation as he studied the slumbering bunny. “Make a stew out of it?”Lacey sighed. She didn’t know what to do. Technically, the rabbit, aka male intruder, hadn’t been the one to threaten her. In fact, it was as if he was trying to protect her, which was totally ridiculous as she could protect herself from most things not that the man would have known that.

⭐ What’s fantastic about Magic, New Mexico? Magic, New Mexico is a small town where the inhabitants can be them selves with the magic spell true helps normal people from realizing the true inhabitants of the town. Frost is a alien Stzr Ranger from the planet Glacier lands on Earth to capture Taar (a lizard crossed with tyranisus rex) criminal who likes to eat everything in sight, including people. Lacey is a widow and a powerful witch who runs a animal rescue service. Taar tries to eat Lacey but she tastes terrible. He wrecks her house searching for food.Frost enters her house and quickly realizes that Lacey is his mate. She shrinks Taar to a size of a toy and put him into a container. What did she do to Frost? They have a ghost of her deceased husband wanting lazy to move on with her life . What will happen to both of them? With characters like this it only leads to a fascinating, twisted story that’ll make you laugh out loud. And it keeps the laughter going until the very end. If you thought this beginning of the story was funny just wait until the end. Or better yet don’t wait until the end and get the book. I highly recommended this fascinating story about a magical town and it’s magical characters. Did thatbookwormsuzy

⭐ 4 starsI found this story to be very enjoyable. I liked both Lacey and Frost and liked their story very much.Lacey owns an animal shelter in the town of Magic, New Mexico. The whole town in made up of “unusual people” and Lacey is one of those with her magical abilities. Lacey was married to a man she grew up with but he died 3 years ago and she’s been alone since.Frost is an alien (with ice powers) that works as a Star Ranger, aka an interplanetary policeman/bounty hunter. Frost has been in the job for a while and has made lot so money and is ready to retire. He gets pulled into one last job, to pursue a dangerous criminal, Taar, to a primitive planet while making sure not to expose aliens to the local population. When Taar lands, he heads towards the closest civilization which happens to be Magic and Lacey’s house. Taar is a lizard creature and at first, Lacey thinks he’s a magical construct made by her twin nephews but soon realizes differently. Thankfully, Lacey’s gifts are strong so she’s able to protect herself from Taar. Frost shows up to capture Taar but things go a bit wonky when Lacey decides Frost is way too disturbing and makes moves to get him out of her life ASAP.Frost recognizes Lacey as his fated mate and isn’t about to be pushed away. He decides to win her and then kidnap her back to his home planet but things don’t go exactly as planned when MiB (Men in Black) come around looking to investigate the possibility of aliens after tracking 2 things coming through the atmosphere that had a controlled trajectory. Things get complicated but while this is all happening, Frost and Lacey get closer and quickly fall for each other. Unfortunately, the MiBs aren’t the only issue faced by the couple and even once they settle things with the MiBs, some separate third-party interference causes even more problems for Lacey and Frost. Fortunately, Lacey isn’t a wimp and she has a wonderful family town that stand with and help her, allowing things to work out in the end and Lacey and Frost to get their HEA.This was a very enjoyable story. I really liked Lacey. She was nice but also strong and does what needs to be done to protect those she cares about. Frost was a very good hero and I liked his character very much. Together, they made a good team/couple…I’m glad things turned out the way they did, even if things went wonky to get there. Overall, this was a very good story that was nicely engaging and I’d recommend it. 🙂

⭐ This book was very good & to me very fast-paced as I read it in a matter of hours.Lacey, lost her husband (who was a troll in the real sense) to a bus accident & even though he’s a spirit he’s been trying to find someone for her & he did.Frost, is a Star Ranger who landed on Earth & near Magic, New Mexico as he was on a trail to find an escaped prisoner from his world when he meets Lacey. This book has an evil scientist, lots of sex scenes, lots of magical beings & more people from Frost’s galaxy to try & keep him & Lacey apart. Oh, & Joseph, Jonah & Little Bit & the antics that those 3 get into are fun.No, I’m not going to tell you what happens in this book; you’ll have to read it for yourselves.

⭐ Yet another SPETACULAR book by SE Smith!I picked this up late last night and started reading it as soon as I heard that it had hit Amazon.com. I even woke up late last night with the kindle hitting me in the face because I just did NOT want to put it down. From start to finish, this adventure captures the imagination!!!It’s a different twist for SE Smith’s books and one I truly hope she continues! Each of the characters are wonderful and unique!! From Topper, the cooky but funny lady with the purple hair!!! Frost is such a loveable and confused man that does everything he can to protect his woman. Lacey is someone we can all relate to as she struggles with her past and tries to run a non-profit shelter… even “little bit” the adorable puppy!!!I’m not going to say more because I don’t want to ruin the story for everyone! What I will say though? You will NOT be disappointed by this read, well until you reach the end and realize that the story is over and you’re whining for the next one!!!

⭐ Another solid five. This is a book about a small town in New Mexico full of magical people. An escaped psychopath Alien lands and starts on a killing spree until he meets up with Lacey who is perfectly capable of putting a stop to the killing. Frost, a star ranger, is in pursuit and gets to Lacey’s house in time to be astonished as to what is going on. This book is a delightful mixture of magic, craziness mixed in with a mad scientist and talking animals. It is wonderfully imaginative with an interesting solid story line. I couldn’t put it down.

⭐ This was an odd book. It had potential but went off the rails a couple of times. An alien bounty hunter comes to earth to catch a violent alien criminal and runs into his fated mate. She happens to be a witch living in a magical community with dragons, trolls, werewolves, vampires etc. They quickly hook up and drama ensues. The good stuff: interesting characters…the twins were my favorite. The heroine (and her whole family) are likable. She’s a strong female who can take care of herself. Also, there are some pretty funny moments (like when the violent alien is shrunk to the size of a stick of gum). The writing is good and flows nicely. The bad stuff: there was too much stuff going on in this book….even for a first book in a series. I usually enjoy PNR with multiple paranormal aspects, but this was overkill. I felt like I was turning a page and there was a were amp, then a troll, then a dragon. And none of the bevy of supes advanced the plot except to highlight (read as: beat into our heads) that the town was a haven for all supes. The overkill made the story silly about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way in and I no longer felt absorbed in the story (I did finish the book, but I wasn’t compelled to).In a nutshell: I thought this book was ok, but not great. Too much of a paranormal grab bag for me.

⭐ I enjoy Ms. Smith’s science fiction adventures such as the Dragon Lords of Valdier and probably hold all her other novels to that standard. Thus, my small disappointment at this short novel. A young widow (Lacy) full of magic and living in Magic, New Mexico is attacked by a vicious alien criminal. The alien lawman (Frost) sent to capture the criminal is surprised to find himself turned into a rabbit. And the plot unfolds from there. The town Ms. Smith created seems fun and full of every variety of mythical/paranormal/magical creatures. I liked the characters. Perhaps the dialogue was too stunted or juvenile or cliche for my tastes. This does not mean I will ever give up on Ms. Smith and her writings. She is one fine HEA/adventure writer.

⭐ I couldn’t put this book down. From beginning to end I was entranced. I want to be a resident of Magic, New Mexico. The town’s population are varied and unique. The characters are great. I look forward to seeing a good amount of them getting their own book. Frost and Lacey’s chemistry is off the charts.I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a outstanding paranormal romance.

⭐ The book description that amazon has for this book does not do it any justice! It tells you that there are some secrets about Lacey that you don’t know yet, but Lacey should be the main part of this as she is the coolest thing in the story.Frost, our alien Hero, is basically an intergalatic cop. He comes from an artic planet and has the ability to shoot bolts of ice and freeze things. He is chasing down a fugitive that is extremely dangerous and has traveled to Earth which is forbidden. Enter Lacey, our funny and entertaining herione. She discovers the fugitive at her house/animal shelter and it very quickly gets entertaining because we find out Lacey is actually a witch. I love that the author gave Lacey such a kick butt personality and she easily took care of this vicious fugitive and then Frost! Of course our H doesn’t give up that easily and what ensues is a pretty entertaining read. Not at all what I expected from the book description, but surprisingly funny with a touch of romance. The supporting characters all add a little bit of spice and entertainment factor, and it isn’t totally without suspense and romance. It’s a short book, but one that will keep you entertained.

⭐ I absolutely loved this story. For the start to the series if the author can keep up this momentum and the funny hilarious dialog and storyline it will be a smash hit. It’s aliens meet their match when they arrive in Magic New Mexico the epicenter of the known world of super naturals, witches, warlocks, shifters an every other mythical species known and unknown to mankind. This was one madcap story line from beginning to end. It was so entertaining and so funny, at times, I thought I’d chuckle myself into a coma. I loved Frost and his star marshal’s job. I can only imagine what he was thinking when he touched down in Magic. I know he thought that earthlings were a primitive race but this group took you to whole other dimension of space and time.I loved it and I can’t imagine that if you are S.E. Smith fan you would be beyond enchanted, entertained and so filled with laughter that you thought you were on a drugged high. If you aren’t a fan than this one will take you there in spades. Loved it, loved it, LOVED IT.
