⭐A wonderful collection of works by a true master of the English language. And unlike Orson Scott Card (see Introduction) I even enjoyed the nonfiction pieces. Yet, like Card, I wish there were more works of fiction. I can’t say I have read all 500 books Asimov wrote but I am an Asimov junkie and have read almost all of his novels and have consumed a lot of his short fiction (robot stories and mysteries). This book isn’t perfect but it is a wonderful addition to my collection.

⭐Pure Asimov, Pure Gold! This book while containing autobiographical material isn’t an autobiography. (He wrote at least 3 of those.) It is more akin to Stephen King’s “On Writing.” Made up of editorials and treatises on how he wrote, what he thought was good writing technique the book is a direct look into Asimov’s thinking and feelings about his own writing and sci-fi as a whole. Again Pure Gold!

⭐Lots of good stories. Not Asimov’s best, but still fun to read. 8 words 8 words 8 words 8 words. 8 words.

⭐Book was in excellent condition, nearly new. I believe this was Asimov’s last collection of short stories and essays. Asimov always delivered.

⭐If you like Asimov you’ll enjoy these stories, a few of his last before his death. Unfortunately, half the book is various intros Asimov wrote for other collections. A must for an Asimov fan to complete your collection, but if you’re new to Asimov there are better and cheaper stories to buy.

⭐Shipper brought to my neighbor who was out of town, so it stayed on their porch for a week, certainly not the seller’s fault, but otherwise no problems. In great shape.

⭐This book gives a lot of perspective on Asimov’s life, writings, associations and opinions.The first third consists of late in life stories which I’d never seen before. They are well executed since he is, after all, Asimov. Then came the essays, which turn him into a real 3-D character instead of just the power behind the pen.These essays are a fascinating peek into not just into his thoughts, but the history of American Sci Fi from the time of his childhood onward. I believe that this one book contains more in the way of old but not stale gossip and opinion about the hard Sci Fi writers of the era than anything I’ve ever read before or since. There is not much at all about fantasy writers except an occasional nod to Tolkien, and others on the fringe of mainstream fiction such as the satirist Vonnegut are seldom mentioned.Disclaimer: This is not a compensated review. This was a book which a family member bought from my wish list.

⭐I thought I was buying a collection of Asimov stories but instead it was a tutorial on how to wright Si Fi stories! No thanks!

⭐Some great Asimov stories and some classic Asimov humor.

⭐A great book such a page turner! Some great short stories and some editorial pieces towards the end to pass on some of the masters knowledge and opinions. Very enjoyable

⭐A great finale for the good doctor

⭐Not so Gold. Half of this book are short stories, the final one being Gold. After that there lots of Introductions to stories that do not follow. These are split into sections such as robots, galaxy etc., A bit of a let down

⭐This author knows how to write and he even has a section ‘on writing’ in this book!
