⭐ Challenging Saber is book 4 in The Alliance Series, and it is FINALLY the story of Taylor and Saber – I have been wanting to read their story since book 1! The start of this book gives the reader a quick recap of what we already know of these 2 from the past few books – how they met, Taylor’s feistiness, the difference in their ages which means Saber has to wait until Taylor is of age to act on their attraction. I would recommend reading this series in order, but it could be read as a standalone due to the recap at the start.I loved this book, although I probably couldn’t decide between the first in the series and this one as to which is my favourite. Poor Taylor is finally old enough for Saber, but he is struggling with his injury, and whether he will be enough for Taylor due to the difficulties it causes him. Similar to the other books, there is some drama which makes Saber realise Taylor is his, and he sets off to rescue her after she gets caught up in the beginnings of a civil war on a different planet. Another great read in this series, onto book 5!

⭐ I loved Taylor from bk1 when she was just 16 years old and captured by The Trivator Warriors along with her 2 older sister. Taylor gave poor Saber a fit. She was always biting him.But from the moment Saber the Trivator Warrior saw Taylor he new she was his Ameta/Wife. But he had to wait for her to grow up. Before Taylor can turn 21 Taylor has a major accident that almost cost him his life. His leg was basically crushed. It took year for him to even walk again. In the meantime Taylor reaches and adult age.Listen to Audible!! Another Great Narration by David Brenin. 5Star Narration!!

⭐ Saber, the last of the three Trivator soldiers that saved Taylor and her sisters from the horrors on planet earth. Fighting had broke out among the humans after first contact was made by the Alliance. Taylor and her two older sisters fought to stay alive for 4 years until Saber and his two friends found the sisters and saved them. Saber knew Taylor was meant for him, but she was 16 at the time and he had to wait until she grew up. While waiting for Taylor to grow up Saber continued to go on his missions for the alliance. His leg was severely injured on his last mission, and there was a chance that he would lose the leg, even with the latest technology. He was determined to set Taylor free from him, because he felt he was less han a warrior. But Taylor being who she was, was never going to let that happen. She loved Saber and he loved her. But Taylor decides to give Saber the space he needs to come to a decision on their relationship. She goes on a first aid mission and get caught in the middle of a war and is left behind during evacuations. Saber has made the decision that he must save her because he loves her. His leg is responding to new treatment and his woman needs him. So many more planets, aliens, good guys, evil guys, excitement and honor, love and laughter. can not wait for the next book.

⭐ I’ve been waiting for this story & for the most part the story was very good; but the ending was disappointing as I would have liked there to just be a little more about Saber & Taylor’s future in it. The plot as very good as it still had the capturing & rescuing theme in it; but instead of the woman doing the rescuing it was Saber, Hunter, Dagger, Razor, Trig & a few other warriors that were rescuing Taylor. The Kassisians are mentioned in this book especially at the end when Ajaska shows up because there’s a new enemy working with some old current enemies that are going to try & takeover their star system & currently are on Earth trying to takeover it. At the end of this book it says that there is another one coming out about Kali’s brother Destin who was left back on Earth & as many of the other series have had that same theme (meaning that there’s another book in the series coming out next & then doesn’t happen) I’ll believe it when I see it. But, I hope that S. E. Smith does intend to finished not only this series as indicated at the end of these books but also all of the other sci-fi/alien series that have ended with that indication.

⭐ The story starts at the beginning when Taylor first comes into Saber’s life. You get glimpses of their interaction for the past 5 years as she grows up to be a 21 year old woman. Saber won’t take her as his Amate even though they both love each other. He feels he is in no condition to take care of an Amate with his crippled leg after he was injured in battle. Taylor leaves to go to Dises V to take part in an aid mission to finish her studies early when war overtakes the aid station she is working at and she is captured by the opposing forces. Saber, Dagger and Hunter go to find her only to discover all is not what the Alliance thought was happening on Dises V. There is a good balance between the romance side and a strong plot with the characteristic tough, smart resourceful women that I find in S.E. Smith’s books along with the Alpha males who love these women. The ending is open ended leaving the reader looking forward to the next book “Destin’s Hold” to see what will happen next.

⭐ I’ve just realised that several of her series are tied into each other and that’s what makes them so much more amazing than just a book that has nothing to go after the book!!! S. E. Smith has a corner on the market for connecting series that are so amazing to read and each book has the HEA, but, it continues on to the next installment in the fight to save the universe!!! S. E. Smith has one of the most unique and talented as well as imaginative mind that a writer can have to write so many stories that are described in a way that you feel like you’re right there in the midst of the storyline and I absolutely must recommend this book and series and her other series for your own personal enjoyment and library and when you do you will find yourself curled up in your favorite chair reading about these amazing and wonderful people until you reach the end and then you will be waiting for the next installment with bated breath just as I am!!!Your Biggest Fan,Lena deLeonlenadeleon2004.ld@gmail.com

⭐ To know that someone is your fated mate from the moment you meet them is amazing enough. To have to wait seven years before you can claim what fate has given you is a testament to your desire for the ultimate reward. To then, throw it all away after on night?! Absolutely, freakin’ CRAZY! I wanted to crawl into the book and rip Saber’s head from his shoulders. Don’t you just F’LOVE when a book makes you react with such emotions? Challenging Saber, is exactly that. Taylor has challenged him at every turn. Give an inch, she takes a mile. But don’t worry. Saber lives it.

⭐ S.E. Smith does it again! This series is just wonderful each new story adding to last. The characters are fun, well rounded and entertaining. This is one I have been waiting for a while and it was well worth the wait!This one of those story lines that starts with what if? What if our message sent out to space was answered? What if aliens landed on earth? She takes these questions and creates the most amazing stories. I truly can’t wait for the next one!

⭐ This is a great series. The first books concentrate on a wonderful group of three sisters and the men they love. This 4th book takes it out of the usual trope and pulls those people into a conspiracy with time travel and predictions. I can’t wait to finish the last two books and see how it all finishes.

⭐ Love the hero, love the heroine, love the series. My primary point of criticism would be that too many alien species are introduced in a big rush at the end of the book. It is impossible to keep them all straight or to get a sense of what their powers are.I wanted a glossary–preferably illustrated–by the end. Also, I just found all the politics at the end confusing. What are the Waxians and the Drethulans trying to achieve on Dises V.? Who exactly are the Kassisans and the Elpidiosians? All deeply perplexing.Basically: I think some background would have been helpful. Perhaps this is all in another series by the author, but some sort of bridge would have been helpful.
