Description

Lily LeBlanc isn’t versed in the art of casual sex, but after seven years in an on-again, off-again relationship, she’s definitely willing to give it a shot. And who better to try it with than her best friend’s boyfriend’s best friend? What could possibly go wrong?

NHL player, Randy Ballistic, lives up to his last name on the ice and in the bedroom. His best friend and teammate has recently given up the puck bunnies and traded them in for a real girlfriend. And she just happens to have a seriously feisty, extra-hot best friend on the rebound. Randy’s more than happy to be Lily’s spring board back into the dating scene.

But casual sex is only casual until those pesky things called emotions get involved. Once that happens, someone’s bound to get pucked over.

⭐ Pucked Over delivers everything I adore about the Pucked series- memorable and lovable characters, insane chemistry, ample laughs, and tons of heart. I just adore Randy and Lily- and Randy has run away with this series for me.I love these two together so much. Sexy, HOT, and so endearing. DID I MENTION HOT? Man is this book full of sexy times. The push pull was just delicious, and the quirkiness of Violet’s personality and all the zinging one liners gave this so much charm and light hearted fun. But we also have the characteristic Helena Hunting depth underneath all the steaminess and humor. Both these characters have real challenges when it comes to having healthy relationships that are rooted in their baggage with their parents. But neither can deny their need. Randy doesn’t know how to commit- and that makes him terrified. And Lily has layers of insecurities from years of mistreatment by her boyfriend, and keeping it casual with her delicious dalliance with Randy isn’t really in her skill set. What starts as super steamy, flirty and playful soon evolves into something more emotionally substantial, feelings come to light, and we get some really meaningful vulnerability that solidifies an undeniable connection- even if they make some mistakes in figuring that out.I really loved Lily, and Randy- OH MY GOODNESS. Not only is his bearded bunny description scrumptious, but he’s my favorite Helena character yet. He’s SO sexy, but he’s also attentive and sweet and just the right amount of over the top. This series is just so fantastic. Helena gives these characters so much energy and complexity- while also keeping them fun and hilarious. And we get plenty of time with this crazy group of friends and all their fun antics. We have just the right amount of angst, laughs, and extra steam. Witty, sexy, and heartwarming entertainment!

⭐ MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS – Lily considers sleeping with Randy as a rebound from her nasty ex Benji & they have so much chemistry it is crazy! Lily literally has back to back to back fireworks just from Randy rubbing against her! These two are majorly hot but there are a few obstacles – Randy has a lousy drunk father & he is deathly afraid he will follow in his dad’s footsteps and Lily has been cut down by her boyfriend for years & has very little confidence. There is also the issue with distance since Randy plays hockey for Chicago & Lily still lives with her mom in Canada. So ok, why not hit up Randy when he’s in town for his games, experience a man who definitely knows his way around a woman’s body, & agree to let it be some random hook-ups. Typical scenario though, they text a bit, call a little, don’t sleep around & pine for each other even though they agreed to only be bed buddies. Plus Lily has real life issues – she can’t just skip work to hang out with Randy, she needs the two jobs she has just to survive. So the best part about this book is Randy’s hotness with the man bun & full beard but his over-the-top attentiveness & sweetness to Lily makes him my favorite man in this series! They both have conflicting feelings, again the typical scenario when they don’t realize they both feel more for each other & don’t want to step out on a limb & get hurt. But Randy, oh Randy, he really is something special!

⭐ My Quickie Review:Overall: 3.75Performance: 4.0Story: 3.5I think I’ve reached the end of this series for my interest. Overall, I enjoyed this audio of the story, but there wasn’t anything amazing about the story. At one point, I even thought the dialogue between the women hit such shallow, silly lengths that they could have easily been a group of puck bunnies that they are so often making fun of. I almost stopped listening to this one at that point, but I plugged on.This story was about Randy…one of the NHL players who has been a player in every sense of the word. The heroine was Lilly who is best known for how awful she treated the hero in the last book. They have a long distance relationship for 90% of this book…only getting together for sex every few weeks based upon the movement of the team. It’s supposed to be no-strings fun. The kind Lilly needs after breaking up with her long-time boyfriend. Randy is her rebound and they are both really good with that.It was entertaining enough…just nothing astonishingly good or engaging. It passed the time, but not much more. As a result, I think I’ll probably pass on listening to the rest of this series. I’m done with it.

⭐ My favorite hockey book yet by Helena Hunting. Lily and Randy are pure perfection! Their banter and Lily’s wit and snark, I love it all. I read the book in a day because I couldn’t get enough of these two.We got a glimpse of Randy and Lily from Pucked Up and we got the reasonings and full story in Pucked Over. What starts out as fun, ends up as something serious and intense. They’re not sure how to navigate these feelings due to past feelings.I love it when a big tough guy who is so against feelings gets them. When a girl can bring them to their knees, it’s one of my favorite story lines.I cannot talk enough about this book. So happy, do great, so fantastic… I may go re read now!

⭐ Oh my goodness! This was so entertaining and fun to read! I loved Randy and Lily and their infections and insatiable chemistry! The push and pull between Randy and Lily was amazing. These two were H-O-T hot! In the beginning, I thought Lily was a bit of a hot mess and Randy was enamored and in hot pursuit of her. I liked learning about their past and how that played into where they were at now. They were just so fun together, playful and flirty! I really enjoyed when more emotion and vulnerability came into play and their feelings start to emerge. I liked both characters a lot but there were a few moments I wanted to smack the heck out of them for their immature choices while they figured everything out. Overall I felt this was just outright awesome to read. There’s a great and crazy group of friends involved that are all spectacular, some of which have been introduced in previous books. I loved seeing Violet and Alex, and Sunny and Miller again and seeing where everyone was at. I also liked the side stories hinted at for Lance and Darren, making me excited for their stories. I adore the girls together and their friendship, they’re an obnoxious outrageous trip that made me laugh.I loved the humor and details. It had just the right bit of angst mixed in, it was a light read with pretty low drama. Pucked Over had great entertainment value, lots of laughs and fun with really likable characters. This was so witty and sexy, full of good times and laughter. Another great read in the Pucked series!

⭐ We got a little taste of Randy and Lily’s possible relationship in Pucked Up. Lily is best friends with Sunny. Randy is best friends with Buck. Their first meeting was very entertaining and lead to Randy helping Lily get rid of her douchebag of an ex.I really like Lily. She is willing to work hard, not willing to accept hand-outs and is not bitter that her dream of being an olympic ice skater did not come true. There were a few times I wanted to slap her mother but she did come around in the end. Lily has been in an off and on relationship for the past 7 years. Now the relationship is finally over. While she may not have feelings for Randy, her body sure does and because of her inability to control her desire, she is willing to try a casual relationship with the well-known manwhore himself. I mean why not when he can do things to her that will make readers need a cold shower or a good vibrator.Randy is best known for his moves on the ice and in the bedroom or wherever the action is going down. But there is a lot more to him than meets the eye. I had an instant love for Alex and wanted Buck to be my brother, but there is something about Randy. He is hiding something and seems to have some “daddy” issues. As you get to know him, your heart will break and melt for him. You will want to be Lily. I actually wanted to jump in my kindle and show him that he was just perfect the way he is. I am so in love with him. He is my favorite character in the series. And I think Randy & Lily are my new favorite couple and this was my favorite book to date. It was filled with laughs, drama, awesome TMI moments, love, and friendship.

⭐ Randy and Lily take center ice with this one. Randy is a known player and Lily is just getting out of a relationship. This was supposed to be casual but it becomes much more. Randy knows what’s happening and so does Lily. However, to avoid what is inevitable heartbreak she ends things. This causes Randy to realize his true feelings, which we saw every time they connected. He has some insecurities with his physical appearance that Lily loves. These two are great together. Now the part that really was too much. Violet was pretty irritating to me. I can’t believe how much I enjoyed her book before, because I felt overloaded with him. She’s quirky and has diarrhea of the mouth when she’s nervous, but she really got on my nerves in this one. Every now and then her inappropriate comments made you laugh but this book was about Randy and Lily and I wanted more of them. The group girl chats are normal but every woman should draw the line with discussing some things about their men. No one needs to know about my husband’s package and abilities. Anyway, maybe I’m nitpicking but I found myself skipping the drunk Violet sections. And she was tipsy or drunk a bit too often.Anyway, even with that the book was great.Pros:Randy and Lily are hot togetherBoth have insecurities and flawsTheir connection seemed realHot love scenesRandy says the sexiest thingsCute plotCons:Frankly, Violet. It was Violet overload. I understand connecting previous characters and following up on their stories but I wanted to see Randy and Lily on most of the pages.

⭐ I’ll just say it … I love Balls.I fell in love with Randy “Balls” Ballistic in Pucked Up. He was just there, being Miller’s buddy, and I knew I was in love. Then Randy hooked up with Lily and I was all in. We are reminded of the moments between Randy & Lily from Pucked Up and thrown back into the feels department.Randy isn’t just a pretty face – but boy howdy IS he pretty, meow – he is also a stand up guy and surprisingly insecure. Randy holds a secret close and only a few friends are privy to it, that secret represents more than what you see on the surface, it runs deep and connects his present to his childhood.Lily was dealt a crap hand and has made the most of it. She hides behind snark and indifference while never rocking the boat or embracing change. Through these choices, Lily has found herself leading a life that is less than fulfilling. That is until she goes against everything she normally does and hooks up with Randy.I loved the progression of Randy & Lily from less than friends with a lot of benefits to friends to so much more. Their story is sweet and kind and fun to watch. Helena continues to give us laugh out loud moments, hot sex scenes, and fun supporting characters. Every time I finish a book in this series I declare that man my favorite but when I look back, I really think Randy is my favorite of the series so far … then there’s Lance and something tells me he is going to suck me right in. I cannot wait!

⭐ Lily has a jerk for a boyfriend named Benji. Sunny, her best friend, also has a jerk for an ex- boyfriend named Kale. Who names their kid after a vegetable? Then there is Miller “Buck” Butterson, Sunny’s new boyfriend, sort of. They are still working that out. Then there is Randy “Balls” Ballistic, the super hot, sexy teammate of Alex and Buck who all play for the NHL’s Chicago Hawks Hockey Team. This is quite the dynamic group with unbelievable hilarious characteristics making this one funny and sometimes incredibly embarrassing story! On the surface, it’s hard to imagine these hot hockey players as anything but real players on and off the ice. Always surrounded by “puck bunnies”, those young, not so young, scantily clad, heavily made up, heavily endowed, female “fans” that blatantly pursue the famous hockey players. They don’t care which one they land, they just want to catch one for a hook-up and be able to spread their antics and delicate photos all over social media. They cause many problems for the hockey team members.Deep down, in reality, these men, Randy more specifically, is very sweet, sexy, chivalrous and gorgeous. So, this story is a bit complicated. Randy also has a physical defect that hinders his outgoing nature, almost making him seem introverted. Lily needs to dump Benji, especially after Randy walks in on her in the bathroom and catching her in a private moment. At this point, the chase is on. Lily is a wonderfully intricate and funny character in this story. She has a vulnerable way about her that is a complete opposite of her interactions with Randy. They have no shame and will take advantage of any situation to enjoy each other. Lily has a hard time accepting Randy as anyone serious but can’t deny the sexual chemistry she and Randy experience every time they are anywhere near each other.I loved this book! It has many hilarious twists and turns that will keep you laughing. It will also get you wondering what will happen next. Don’t miss this one!

⭐ This book was awesome! I loved that Lily hated Randy but I also loved their first encounter together when Miller went to Sunny while she was at Alex’s cabin. I loved how Randy took up for her when her BF was being a jerk. I loved the connection Randy & Lily had. They had so much fun while she was on the rebound off of a longtime relationship that wasn’t really great. All they both wanted was a casual fling & enjoy each other’s company. They didn’t expect actual feelings to come about. This book made me laugh so hard throughout. It made me smile & get giddy when good things were happening. I’m absolutely loving this whole series!
