⭐ When I was done reading, I was left feeling like nothing substantial happened in the plot of this book. That is the big reason why I gave it one star. A lot of it was filled with redundant wishy washy thoughts of the heroine and immature musings of the hero. I’ve read the first two books (and I loved them by the way) in this series and I already knew I wasn’t going to like Dean, but I gave it a go and now I’m wishing that either I hadn’t read it, or at the very least the next book in the series would wash the taste of disappointment away. I really hope so. Both of these characters are dumb and I never got the feeling that they’re really in love.***may be some spoilers aheadThey just like having sex, and there’s a lot of it (compared to the last 2 books), which isn’t necessarily a bad thing for the story arc if that’s what they build their relationship on. My problem with this approach is that when done too much can really feel like their love is just superficial. I was turned off halfway through and just wanted it to end. I had high hopes for this book but then again, and I hate to compare it to Garett and Logan’s journey to love, this book was a total waste of time.I didn’t like Allie at all. She couldn’t be consistent with her behavior to save her life. She wants Dean one second and then doesn’t want him in the next. She wants to keep their interaction to just a fling but then she gets jealous when other girls are flirting with him. She doesn’t play games but she totally does. She’s insecure one moment and then magically trusts Dean in the next breath. She is the weakest heroine I have seen in this series so far and something tells me that Sabrina (Tucker’s love interest) will blow this mediocre soggy blonde mess that is Allie into obscurity. Hell, even Grace as a freshman was way more mature than Allie. Sabrina and Dean would’ve been a better/stronger storyline, but this mess of a book is what we’re stuck with.Dean, is well rich, loves to party and have sex. All the little snippets that show a glimpse into who he is are also superficial. He starts to develop feelings for Allie (and later falls in love) because his genitals don’t work for any other girl?!?! Man, I had a headache after that one. Of the boys in that house, his story did not interest me. I didn’t understand why he got so much attention in the storylines throughout the series. I thought he was the stupidest of the 4 boys. I just read it because I didn’t want to miss anything in the reading order and now I have nobody but myself to blame. The man whore gets tamed by a woman’s love is the most tired trope in romances and this one was all about that and stewed to perfection. I was left cynically thinking this dude is gonna cheat on Allie as soon as the going gets tough. Maybe not tomorrow, but probably next week or in 3 years if they’re still together. She’s gonna forgive him because she doesn’t have much self-control and well her mother told her not to give up on love (whatever that means).I didn’t see the *big surprise* coming at the end with his football friend. That too was just dropped in the plot, no smooth transition and no anticipatory connection at all. It was the easiest and laziest way to create drama for a storyline that fizzled out somewhere after the 30% mark in this book. Everything in this book was sort of haphazardly thrown together and then rushed in the end. Why would you ruin Tucker’s story line by putting that bomb in the end? It’s because this book had no meat in it and it needed some. Perhaps it was a ploy to make you read the last book in the series. Either way, it’s pathetic.The writing was alright. Sometimes it felt emotionally immature. To be fair, it probably was mirroring the thought processes of a 22 year old but some seemed more like the typical angst of a high schooler. This is why I hate points of view types of writing. When done right, it is enjoyable. My problem is that you can get away with being sloppy especially if you use slang and text speak. There were some grammatical errors here and there but it didn’t detract from the story. Although, it would’ve benefited from a reviewer/editor going through it again to spot those errors.

⭐ Oh, Dean! I was excited to read this installment but wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Dean. I already knew I loved Allie, from her part in the first book. I was a little shocked to see she a little kinkier than I thought but hey to each his own ;). Allie sure did give Dean a run for his money and I loved to see how his character developed throughout the book. Be warned! There is a very devastating part to this book towards the end that Dean struggles with tremendously. It’s hard to read but these types of storylines are what makes reading so amazing! You feel what the characters feel, you can relate to the fact that life isn’t as perfect as some of these books lead us to believe. This is probably my second favorite in the series, I live everything about it! Especially the banter between the four roommates! Haha, classic stuff.

⭐ 4 to 4.5 starsThere’s nothing like seeing a total player/ manwhore meet his match, and a picture of Dean would appear next to that description anywhere you look! Unlike Hannah and Grace from the prior books in this series, Allie is more experienced and definitely knows what she likes/ wants. When the breakup of her long time on again/ off again relationship leaves her a little lost, Dean is the unexpected rebound man for the job… until it becomes something more and they both find themselves in uncharted waters.Allie is a nester and loves the security of a committed relationship, and normally that would send Dean running screaming in the opposite direction. But it doesn’t take long to realize the party boy front hides a lot more depth than he allows most people to see. When an unexpected tragedy strikes, it shakes his world badly enough that he may just lose Allie if he can’t pull his head out of his butt. Now we all know that’s not going to happen though, right?The Score has plenty of laughter, snark and heartfelt moments that kept me smiling from start to finish despite a few bumps along the way, and Allie and Dean are my favorite couple of the bunch so far!

⭐ I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this one, because of all the dudes in the Hastings house, Dean was my least favorite. To be blunt, he’s kind of a jerk, but he never claims not to be. At least he is honest! When the book starts out and Allie needs a place to go to hide from her ex, I soooo knew what was going to happen. It was interesting to watch Dean and Allie get together, even if they are only claiming it to be casual and are keeping it from their friends. There’s definitely a lot of sexy times all around in this book.This book also has a ton of drama in it, and I’m not usually a fan of that. I was really happy when they were together and everyone finally knew it, but I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop. When it does it was so awful. Like, how dare you Elle, how are you going to do me like that? I’m being purposefully vague here but something really bad happens in this book that sets up for a lot of hurt between the two characters. It was awful!I think it’s the awfulness that made me downgrade my rating to a 3 1/2 star. I was just so mad at Dean in this one. I was just starting to like him and then he just has to completely mess it up. Ugh, why are men?Like the other books this one does have a happy ending, HOWEVER, there is a huge cliffhanger at the end of this book that kind of sets off the next book. It’s a huge spoiler, so I’m not saying what it is here. I liked this book enough, and I enjoyed reading it, but I didn’t like it as much as the other two.

⭐ I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Dean. I love him. Yes he is definitely promiscuous, but he is very upfront in his dealings with the opposite sex. If you have ever lived on a college campus then you know that casual hookups are as frequent as coffee runs. When Allie is feeling bad about her night with Dean, he is very good about getting her out of her own head and showing her that she is allowed to have sexual experiences without needing to feel bad about herself. I felt like Deans character grew throughout the book. He starts off as fun and flirty and looking to go to law school because it’s what is expected. He grows into a loving, monogamous relationship, finds his true calling and finds out how to make it happen. He also realizes Allie may need to move to L.A. and makes sure her dad can go with her if she decides to go. Allie grows as well. She starts off in a stagnant relationship that is quickly turning toxic. She ends the relationship and ends up having a one night stand which is totally out of character for her. She then finds herself in another relationship. She also decides to follow her heart and takes only parts that feels are good for her. She also evaluatedS her relationship with Dean and moves forwardAnother terrific book in a fantastic series.

⭐ This one was by far the funniest in the series to me. I think my favorite scene was when Logan walked in on Dean while he was in the tub (he ran a bath for Allie who had sore muscles but she hid behind the door when she heard footsteps).Dean is the resident man whore, I feel like every sports romance series has one. But underneath all Dean’s sexcapades is a decent human with a heart of gold. He has an older brother and a younger sister who he’s close with as well as a great relationship with his parents. I knew from the moment he was told that he would have to help with he Hurricanes that he would choose that as his career path instead of being a lawyer.Allie is a definite drama major and there were times she could be dramatic but it worked for her. I loved how much she loved her dad. It seems like a running plot line at this point for the girls to be close to their families and up until this book for the guys to be distant with theirs. I do give Allie credit for saying she needed to take time to be alone for a while. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to be in a relationship or even loving being in one all the time, but when you can’t be alone that’s when I think there’s a problem.I think the few things that I had issues with in this book were pacing issues. Dean goes through a grieving process and in some ways I think it was kind of rushed for him to get her it by the end of the book. Grief is different for everyone and the way he was dealing with it through the opening night of Allie’s play just doesn’t seem like he would turn the switch off the next day to be that much better. Also, could his friends not have taken him to Allie’s play? If Logan, Grace, Hannah, and Garrett all made it to the play why did none of them give him a ride? That was the only plot line issue I really had since college campuses are big places to 1) carpool or 2) walk everywhere.I was kind of sad that Sean came out of this as the “bad guy” when I really liked him in The Deal but oh well. Again, kudos to Garrett for showing his sweet side (by letting Allie stay the night at his place after Allie and Sean’s breakup and also by the way he handled the situation when Sean came to confront Allie at 1:00am).The narrators for this book were decent. I think I liked the other two male narrators better than this one (which is weird because he’s the one for The Bromance Book Club and I loved that book but he sounds different in this one and I’m not sure why). The female narrator was thankfully a different person and I was so grateful that she was more emotional which fit Allie so much better since she is a drama major after all. If you’ve read the two previous, then you should read this one as well. If you haven’t started this series, I would recommend if you like sports romances.

⭐ Fairly standard New Adult romance featuring a bad-boy player who falls hard for his friend after they have a drunk “one night stand” that turns into a fling that turns into love.The story opens with a bang, as Allie, hiding from the long-term boyfriend she recently dumped, barges in and and busts up hockey player Dean’s three-way and then ends up sleeping with him the same night after a bottle of tequila.I loved seeing Dean beg Allie. I loved that Allie owns her sexuality and but also fears her dependence on having a boyfriend. I didn’t enjoy that the characters’ first time together was told in bits and pieces as a booze-fueled flashback that Allie only slowly begins to remember after waking up naked with Dean.The story felt a bit bloated at times and the romance arc wasn’t the most thrilling for me personally, but it was overall a fun audio book. The male narrator was pleasant, including his female voices, and I liked the female narrator as well. I would listen to the previous three books in the series.Content warnings for alcohol, drugs, secondary character death, and depression

⭐ Garett is a sweet A-hole. Logan is a sweet A-hole. Dean Heyward-Di Laurentis is just a simple A-hole. Or not?I loved this book! The two main characters were perfectly matched and their backstories and character development is amazing!I know.. You’ll say it’s just a smutty romance but I swear there’s more to it!Allie trying to deal with her break-up and figuring out her future is a great female character. She has everyday problems as a senior student but her dad has SM and it gives her character a little twist! She’s caring and gentle.. But a wildcat in the bed!Dean is a sexgod.. And that’s it! Or at least this is what everyone sees in him and he’s fine with it! But Allie stepping into his life turns everything upside down! His new coach gives him a hard time but at the same time provides him a great opportunity that might change his future!This books is so funny and entertaining that I couldn’t stop reading it! Allie is a perfect match for Dean’s jokes and the smut? It’s amazing!This story has some great points in connecection with more serious issues as well! SM is one of them, but grief, coping with grief, findig your passion and destructive relationships are also mentioned and some of them is nicely described in this book!I really recommend this series to everyone who loves a romantic story with a bad boy in focus and some refreshing smut!

⭐ While reading “The Score”, I’m noticed certain characters were being introduced that we haven’t heard of or have been briefly mentioned in the “The Mistake”. As I’m reading “The Score” characters like Sabrina ( briefly mentioned in “The Mistake”) are brought up again in this story, and we learn a bit more about who she is. In addition, this book sets up the stage for the future books such as, the Briar U spin-off series.Dean was one of the characters I was most intrigued to read about in regards to, how he goes from his Casanova ways to being unable to stop thinking about his night with Allie. From the previous two books, I always saw Dean as the kind of guy who didn’t take anything seriously, but through his point of view, I was able to get a clearer understanding as to why he’s acted the way that he has all his life ( the entirety of the series). There’s a lot more than meets the eye when it comes to Dean, and his character development is by far one of my favorites out of the Off-Campus series. It’s clear Dean started to see Allie in a different light after spending time with her, and it’s a nice change for him (especially as a reader, I love seeing him start to open up). Allie opens up too such as, embracing her sexuality, and remaining absolute in her in decisions. I also liked how Dean reassures Allie that she shouldn’t feel shame for doing what she wants or feeling guilty about their night together. Specifically I liked how Dean tells Allie that she shouldn’t slut shame herself. I think a lot of the time for women, we feel that if we’re vocal about what we want or do in terms of sex, we get labeled as being promiscuous, etc. That part in particular I liked that it was brought up, while it was brief it was something that I appreciated was brought up.Like the other Off-Campus series books, I was unable to pry the book from my hands! I needed to know what was going to happen next!

⭐ I have loved every one of the stories in this Series and this one is no different. Dean Sebastian Kendrick Heyward Di Laurentis owns me body and soul. Even his name screams sexy, you know your getting something special with a name like that and Elle does not disappoint. With Elle’s specific brand of laugh out loud comedy mixed with swoon worthy moments, and heart wrenching feels, this book deserves all the stars.”Apparently, Miss Allie didn’t just kill the mood, she scorched the Earth and covered it with salt to prevent horniness from ever growing back.”Allie and Dean are kind of thrown together through extenuating circumstances. But the immediate chemistry between these two is off the charts. Granted its Dean and this boy screams o***** and bad decisions it doesn’t detract from their individual chemistry. I loved watching the banter between Dean and Allie it is freaking fantastic and so funny! This girl knows how to put this horny boy in his place and it’s oh so satisfying to see.“Sure, you are. Seriously, just find yourself a rebound.” Dean whips up his arm. “I volunteer as tribute.”I loved Allie since we first met her in The Deal. She’s a theater major and is overall a happy person with a freaky side that you didn’t know she had. She is a people pleaser, so she genuinely wants everyone to be happy. Allie goes through a breakup with her long-time boyfriend Sean and is struggling to keep her distance and be strong with her convictions. She knows that they aren’t good together anymore, but Sean has this way of convincing her of all the good times and ignoring the problems. Allie is 100% a relationship girl that’s all she’s ever had; she doesn’t do one-night stands or casual. Her one night with Dean has her all kinds of mixed up and confused.”Not only did I seduce him, but I tied him up and rode him like he was my own personal amusement park ride. “Since the first book we’ve seen Dean as the ultimate playboy, different girls every night, public intercourse the whole nine yards. I loved that in this book we get to see a different side to him a side that even his friends have seen. Dean is so much more than he seems from the outside. He has this huge heart and a passion that you wouldn’t even realize which makes you swoon. I loved being able to see all these different sides to him. And the way him and Allie are together, I did not picture them together but honestly they are perfection.”Sweet Lord. His gaze contains so much raw, palpable heat it startles a gasp out of me. The next thing I know, Dean’s mouth crashes over mine again, and there’s nothing exploratory about this kiss. It’s pure hunger.”I utterly adore this entire series, every book, every couple, grabs a piece of my heart. Elle has created a completely addicting read that will grab you from the first page and hold you captivated until the last page. These boys will make you swoon nonstop and these sassy ladies will make you smile with their witty banter. Elle has Slayed this hockey series and I can’t wait to continue to the next story.
