What if the Fates got it wrong? It’s been seven years since the death of three of Janessa Rowan’s cousins at the hands of mercenary assassins. The time has come for the remaining coven to come together and begin healing. But Janessa is in need of more. Her mate is in love with another, and she will do everything in her power to give him the freedom to allow him to be happy. Coming to an island of witches is not Silvano’s idea of a good time, but, as a Dhampir, he has no choice but to follow his mate if he wants to feed. But what happens when what you thought you wanted starts to lose its shine and what you have seems to be moving out of your grasp. Can Silvano fight old prejudices to save his true love? Prepare yourselves—the Rowan Coven is assembling. Welcome back to the Wiccan Haus.

User’s Reviews

Award-winning author Dominique Eastwick grew up a US Navy Brat, so if there was a naval base, that was probably home. She currently resides in North Carolina with her husband, two children, crazy lab and lazy cat. Dominique’s love of reading started when she was told to read To Kill a Mockingbird in high school. A book that opened her eyes to the joys of reading and entering into the world of the author. To this day she ranks this book as her favorite.

⭐ I can’t get over the fact that I chose the 17th book in a series to read when I’ve never read any of the previous ones. I was hooked by the blurb and I knew they were stand-alone books so I figured I wouldn’t get lost. The story was filled with a depth of emotion that I didn’t expect. Janessa loved her mate so much that she was willing to give up the life she knew so that he could be happy. She went above and beyond her duty as a mate even though the odds were stacked against her. There was one point in the book where I thought the situation would go in a certain direction, but the author threw me a curve ball. The twist made sense in the end even though it caused me to suffer through a little bit of anxiety.I’m going to have to check out the other books in the series. Maybe starting from #1 this time because this set of paranormal books is not to be missed.

⭐ Oh my heart! Janessa Rowan is in love with her bonded mate but he is cursing the fates control over him. Nessa has had enough. She loves him enough to break the bond no matter the cost to herself. She chooses to do it at the Wiccan Haus where she will have family and friends available to help her after. The fates don’t like their will to be thwarted and aren’t going to make this easy on her but Silvano’s happiness is worth it to Nessa. There are other things going on in this book but Nessa and Silvano’s story is what made me keep turning pages.

⭐ I’ve read nearly everything Ms. Eastwick has written and I can say unequivocally this is my favorite. I don’t want to give away plot so I’ll just say she does something most authors would hint at and now follow through with but she does. While I am raving, Ms. Eastwick is the creator of the Wiccan Haus. When I stop to think of the sheer creative genius it took to create this multi authored series of such magnitude I am convinced she is an artist of true genius. Thank you Ms. Eastwick for this book–it made me cry. I may forgive him someday…

⭐ The best part about creating a series has to be that you’re the one who gets to add toys to the sandbox. So many wonderful additions to the Wiccan Haus world get added in this book. I really loved that our couple are already mated. That’s such a nice twist. But the really good stuff is the world-building and revelations that happen. Great book, great series!

⭐ This is the seventeenth book of the Wiccan Haus Series from Decadent Publishing. Wiccan Haus is on an island off the coast of Maine and it is magically protected with a thick fog around is, and a magical boundary beneath the surface as well. It’s kind of a paranormal spa yet they do have regular humans go there also. It is also an island given to four of the Rowan’s, Cyrus, Cemil, Sarka and Sage, after an attack on their family. We begin this story with Janessa, a Rowan cousin and one of the best Curse Breakers. She is in love with her mate, Silvano, and he seems to be in love with an old girlfriend who also happens to be a distant Rowan relative. Silvano is a vampire from a royal vampire family who had apparently been cursed by a grandmother Rowan so none of them can even touch some of their priceless heirlooms that prove they’re true leaders of the vampire. Nessa is meeting with some of her contacts so she can break the mating bond with Silvano (hence the title) since he will never love her. She arranges for him to come to the Wiccan Haus along with his parents and his ex girlfriend under the guise of viewing a Rowan healing ceremony.Silvano is pretty much a jerk for the first half of the story. He doesn’t love her, he barely likes her, he doesn’t trust her, he hates her family, his parents HATE Janessa, they treat her like crap all the time, he hates how much he needs Nessa and he doesn’t understand why he has to be there with her. Imagine a cranky child saying those things… Okay, so all the Rowans on the island are a little uptight for this week as it’s the seventh anniversary of the killings of their sisters, hence the Healing Ceremony. Nessa has a side ceremony that she hasn’t told Silvano about, and that is the breaking of their bond. She’s also working with Sarka to un-curse the heirloom of his family. Obviously she’s a little busy during this visit. I had to read this twice since I read it so fast the first time I felt I missed something. Also, I had a real difficult time reading it at first since Nessa was kind of being a martyr and Silvano’s family and the ex were treating her terribly.I actually thought that Ms. Eastwick was going to give us what I hate in any romance book – an ending that isn’t happy. Luckily she didn’t do that, so I can safely continue to refer to her as my favorite author! I have read all of the Wiccan Haus books, enjoyed some more than others, but they were quite good. None of the books are dependent on the others, but I highly recommend you read them in order (starting with Shifting Hearts (Wiccan Haus #1) ) so you understand the supporting characters and the ‘rules’ of the island. I have loved what Ms. Eastwick’s written for Decadent Publishing but I adore what she does with Wiccan Haus specifically. Her Wiccan Haus characters are excellent and her twists and turns keep me riveted. I was quite pleased she gave us some hints to the Rowan’s past and that she includes Rekkus, Dana and their babies. I can’t wait to read more Wiccan Haus!

⭐ It has been seven years since the Rowan family had been nearly destroyed by mercenary assassins but now it is time for the family to come together and heal if they can. For Janessa Rowan that is just one of her troubles, she believes that the fates have gotten it all wrong and her mate isn’t her true mate … he’s in love with someone else.Silvano is a Dhampir. The last thing he wants to do is follow his mate to the island for a family get together but he has to feed and she is it for him. He has been fighting doubts and fears for years, but here on the island he begins to see clearly. He also sees that what he didn’t realize he wanted and needed is slowly slipping away from him.BREAKING THE MATING BOND is amazing. It opens up more about the Rowan family members. As cousins and in-laws arrive readers get hints of more mysteries that help keep the readers wanting more. Janessa and Silvano seemed to be a couple that were just floating along in their own lives, only together because of his need to feed from her. There was little communication going on, almost as if they both allowed fate to get them were they were but their hearts weren’t involved. I wasn’t sure how author Dominque Eastwick was going to give us a happily ever after with this one but of course she managed just that with a few interesting twists. Janessa loves her mate enough to go to an extreme method to free him. The upcoming ceremony planned for the remaining Rowan’s has been the perfect chance for her to do what she feels she must. But, of course, fate being fate makes things happen that are really unexpected. I love this world of which, I am still amazed that so many authors can write their offerings and still keep everyone as they should be. I can’t wait to get my hands on more of them.

⭐ This was one of the most heart wrenching, emotional books of the series. All the remaining Rowan family is getting together to say their final farewells to their fallen siblings and cousins.Janessa, a cousin and strong Luna witch has come for other reasons also. The fates made a bond between her and Silvano, a Dhampir. But she believes her husband loves and wants another. She has come to use everything in her powers to break the bond and a curse.Silvano came to help his mate in the task of setting up The Rowan ceremony. He really had no choice cause he feeds from her. He feels something different from Janessa. It’s like she’s pulling away. And the thing he wanted most doesn’t seem so important or impressive anymore.I loved this book. My heart so much for Janessa. I cried with her. This was one of the best Haus books yet!I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

⭐ Title: Breaking the Mating Bond Series: A Wiccan Haus StoryDestination: Book#17, 99 Pages, StandAlone Author: Dominique EastwickReviewer: Ingrid Stephanie JordanGenre: #PRN #Witches #VampiresMy Score: #5stars ☆☆☆☆☆♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡Just another one for Lady Dominique, I never ever underestimate this lady she writes golden every single time no matter what she writes it’s golden and I love all her books, her characters, Wiccan Haus is always the best I swear. It’s been seven years since the murders of the Rowan sisters. And so the Rowans have all gathered together on Wiccan Haus Island to have a special anniversary for the sisters. Janessa Rowan is cousin to Sage, Cyrus, Sarka, Cemil has gone to the island, to participate and help with part of the memorial. Janessa also is a curse breaker the best there is too. And this was the other reason she was her with husband, step sister (they hated each other) and her terrible in laws. Janessa’s Fated, Silvano is in love with her Step sister but was fated to her and she loved him so much she wanted him happy, so she was Breaking the Mating Bond, plus she wanted tours the break the curse one of her ancestors spelled on Silvano family.Silvano is a Dhampir Royal Blood, he totally hates what it does to him to have a fated mate. He can’t be away from her for any period of time, they must be together so he could feed from her to him that was really demeaning, than on top of that it was her ancestors who stole all his family relics and cursed his family so the they can never touch any of there relics. Yet Silvano had noticed lately he been feeling something else…But what? And why does Janessa have theKnife of Moshchnost? I was gifted this book for an honest and truthful review.

⭐ The Rowan’s are all gathering at the island to commune with those lost in the massacre and help them to find peace. Janessa, cousin to the siblings that reside at Wiccan Haus, has another sad rite to preform, she is going to break the mating bond with her husband and free him to be with the woman he loves. Silvano has never been happy with his bond to Janessa, his family dislikes her (due to an old incident with one of her ancestors that resulted in the loss of a very important artifact), and he thought himself in love with Janessa’s stepsister. When he arrives he notices that Janessa seems to become more and more distant and he finds he misses everything she did for him and having her near him. Silvano also realizes he feels more for her and wants to become closer, even as he feels her pull away. Janessa has doubts about breaking the bond but feels as soon as they are off the island everything will go back to how it was, with family’s help she decides to finish the spell and Silvano realizes too late what she has done and he may not get her back. This was one of my favorites in the Wiccan Haus collection, I loved how selfless Janessa was to free the man she loved so he could find happiness with another (although that is not how it turned out ).**this book received in exchange for an honest opinion**

⭐ Welcome back to the Wiccan Haus! Janessa came back to the island and the Wiccan Haus to be with her family. Seven years ago they lost 3 of their own and it’s time to let them go, help them pass over and begin the healing process. But she also has another item on her agenda- to dissolve her mating bond with her mate. He’s been faithful, in her eyes, and she’s ready to make the break and move on. But, has she come here to heal or to mourn? Do the fates have other plans for her? Another wonderful story (with HEA) from the Wiccan Haus and Dominique Eastwick. I just love these characters and this series! Fabulously rich characters, great story lines. Winning series!
