⭐ As is standard for the 13th long instalment (excluding the short stories) of the Dan Shepherd series, the latest novel deals with 2 cases, one involving Dan Shepherd infiltrating a South London crime syndicate posing as a contract killer, and the other a plot by Islamic State to commit a terrorist attack in the UK employing a Syrian sniper introduced in the very first chapter.Spider Shepherd’s photographic memory plays a major part in the plot. There’s almost the stirring of a romantic interest developing too. And Spider is surprised, and a little shocked, to discover his son is planning to join the army, so there’s plenty of sideline plot development to look forward to in the next book.I read it in less than a day.

⭐ It’s a nice read, but not great… pretty standard storyline. And it looks to me like it’s written by a ghostwriter.

⭐ 2 fast moving plots, though the conclusion seemed too easy. Not as intricate as some of the previous ones. The usual breathless read though.
