User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I love these little books and his teachings have brought me calm since the pandemic.

⭐You guys have ruined ordering books. Kindle was great for ordering books. The current system is pretty. I had to go to Barnes and Noble to order a book that I wanted on Kindle.

⭐This brief little tome contains the pure essence of all the Buddha’s teachings. Thich Nhat Hanh was a brightly burning dharma lamp in an era of darkness. Let him light ther way towards a better life for you for years to come.

⭐Can you sit? Just be? If you can this book will help you become more mindful when sitting. There is no “instruction” by Thich Nhat Hanh even though the title of the book is “HOW TO SIT”. He just uses his simple words to describe his experiences sitting. He imparts information and subtly inculcates a mindful way to interact with the world.Do you have difficulty sitting without fidgeting? Do your thoughts stream through your mind when you try to just sit? If this describes you, read this book. It is a useful place to begin the lifelong journey to become more mindful. You may ask what mindfulness is. Simply put, it is your life. When you are mindful, you strive to make every moment of every day fulfilling and a joy to experience. Washing dishes, making investment decisions, changing diapers, talking with someone you just met, drinking a glass of lemonade you just made, writing a review on Amazon. Do it with your whole heart (or, if you wish, your whole soul) and your undivided attention. Be present. My words do not do mindfulness justice. Read Thich Nhat Hanh’s words mindfully. Give them a place to flourish in your mind and in your life. Then pass the book along. For once you are mindful, of what use are mere books?

⭐Went on girls getaway retreat and our “Zen Sister” shared this book that guides her and its purpose with us. It is so simple, so easy to read and easy to incorporate breathing and sitting technique in daily life to bring stillness and mindfulness to otherwise hectic days. It’s a Rx we can all use. I’ve bought 6 copies and gifted to friends and family. Just reading it everyday as you practice what it teaches– breathing, mindfulness and clearing your head—is a gift everyone deserves. Take an hour out of your life to ready it and digest it, you won’t regret it. Any religion, any gender, any person who wants to quiet yourself for a few minutes each day, will benefit. Highly recommend it.

⭐Love this little treasure of a book. It calms me down and centers me. I feel much more relaxed, focused and ready to face the day. Good little book to carry when you. Each page has a message so you can simply flip it open and receive inspiration whenever or wherever you go. Bought it to gift to my BFF. She’s going to love it, too. Right up her alley.

⭐A hard book to read on the kindle. The format of short 1 page teachings lends itself to short reads and reflections. I would have preferred to have it by my bed or in my bag to pick up when the desire hit me. Otherwise, wonderful.

⭐Bite size ideas to chew on throughout the day.

⭐Thich Nhat Hanh – I love him! How does someone manage to publish about a million books that all say exactly the same thing, but in a slightly different way? I don’t know, but he achieves it again. Somehow it’s like he chuckles with joy on every line. This is a simple, small book, but really lovely and worth reading. It also has some easy and simple words on mantras to say while meditating/ focussing on the breath. Great if you want to be more mindful.

⭐Find it difficult to sit for long periods doing nothing but this great little book is a wonderful help and the author almost gives permission to relax and just “be”. Very compact to carry during the day and dip into when on buses, trains etc. High recommended.

⭐This book sets an easy to follow route to real mindfulness. It’s advice is brief, clear and practical. Application brings immediate effect. Highly recommended!

⭐This is a very short book but has some invaluable advice and techniques that can be used by everyone. After a very busy and stressful week I was able to relax and found the techniques very easy to understand and use. Definitely worth reading.

⭐Another one in a set of enjoyable books by Thay.
