When I purchased this audio book (Yes, I actually bought this one!), I didn’t notice that it involved time travel. I thought it was going to be just a regular western romance with a hot cowboy. Not that there is anything wrong with just reading about a hot cowboy! But this was so much more. When hints were thrown in about Spirit Pass and then the way the cowpokes reacted to Indy’s clothing, I was smiling from ear to ear. Of course there was some type paranormal aspect to this book! It was written by S E Smith! And I loved it!S E Smith created fabulous characters with strong personalities, lots of humor, a bit of drama and a whole lot of hot romance. Jonathan was mesmerized by Indy from the moment he first saw her. And it wasn’t just her beauty that had him tied up in knots. He had never met a woman like her! He not only wanted her, he wanted to protect her reputation. In his world, a woman couldn’t be left alone with men out on the range or anywhere else without a chaperone, or her name would be forever blemished. Then there was Indy. Indy was a strong, modern, independent, snarky and fully capable woman who melted into Jonathan’s arms the moment he kissed her. ⭐ How can one not like the concept of time travel? All the romantic influence the idea inflicts is mesmerizing…allowing you to soar and lose yourself into the realm of fantasy and all the “what if’s”. And Ms. Smith took me on a wonderful romantic, historical adventure full of suspense and a little humor…which is hard to do since I’ve probably read every time-travel romance written and am always seeking something new and original without it being too far fetched. This story wastes little time with preliminaries. Within a few chapters, Indiana Wild is flung 150 yrs. back in time. And the best part of it was she didn’t know it! Now, there’s an original idea!!!Indiana Wild is a pistol…she’s a real beauty with her long light brown hair and large green eyes. Even though she’s “smallish”…she’s a better horseman and cowpuncher than most experienced men. She can track, live & survive in the wild. I loved her. I loved her sass and gumption to strike out on her own…thumbing her nose at men, because they’re deceitful and conniving. Loved her stubbornness. Loved her! When her three older brothers sell the ranch she was raised on her entire life…yeah, that ranch…they sell it out from under her without her knowledge, she pretty much has had it. Even though she’s only 21 y/o, she has an independent strength about her that was admirable.Identical twin brothers, Jonathon and Jacob Tucker are made from the stuff of women’s dreams. They’re 6’2” with broad shoulders, blue eyes and dark hair. They got hard ranchers bodies. Whoa! And I tell ya… I haven’t laughed this hard in five weeks. The scene that this author lays out…of these two massive brothers tripping over themselves when they hear that there’s a naked woman working on the roof, is too hilarious for words. That right there was worth the price for this entertaining ride. I laughed so hard I had to use my inhaler. (something I don’t need too often). And what makes it even funnier is that Indy is still unaware she’s in another time and that these two brothers have never seen a woman in shorts and a sports bra. Ever! ROFLMBBOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Not only that, but she’s outside…with earbuds in her ears singing at the top of her lungs and shaking her bootie. ON TOP OF A ROOF! ROFLMBBOOOO!!! (oh man…where’d I put my inhaler). The effect puts the brothers in a stupor…unable to speak….or form a sentence…or thinking clearly. And their dumbfounded confusion goes on for minutes. Of them standing there utterly dazed, eyes bulging (and more).. and unable to pull their tongues in.This was a fabulous fast read. Yes, slightly predictable..but so what? It had wonderful drama and controversy. There are a few grammatical errors and a few verb tense errors, but nothing that takes away from the moment. There are a few moments I had to suspend my belief, especially when I find out Indy wears thongs in the wild. Nope…she’d be wearing common sense cotton panties. Not frilly black lace stuff with pink bows. Anyway…Fun dialogue…fun moments…suspense and drama. Great characters.

⭐ S.E. Smith continues to amaze, amuse and delight with her variety of series and plotlines. Her latest is about Indiana Wild the sister of 3 men who are all more than twenty years older than she is. Indy was raised by her grandfather after the death of her parents and grandmother. She loves the ranch and although she has a nursing degree, she only wants to continue to work the ranch, even after the death of her grandfather.But her brother Hayden who is an attorney in LA has different plans for her and for the ranch. Before she’s aware of what has happened the ranch was sold and she has a month to leave. Indiana is furious with her brothers, they only want the money, the ranch will bring them and Hayden wants to force her to fit in with his plans for her. Before he can take any action, Indy packs up and heads for the hills with the two horses and two dogs she raised and trained herself. After spending weeks in the mountains she finally travels through Spirit Pass, a trail that Sam her grandfathers Lakota friend told her about. When Indy reaches the other side of the pass, she helps two cowboys who are being attacked in order to rustle cattle.Indy is later hired by the boss of the ranch, who thinks that she a young man – even though he feels a strange attraction to him?This is a delightful story, Indy is the usual strong, take no prisoners 21st century woman and she shows these century old cowboys that she is not just the little woman who sits at home and “minds her needle”. As usual there are LOL parts and mass confusion when Jonathon and Jacob meet 21st century technology! I look forward to more from ths series! Thanks Ms. Smith!

⭐ I agree with another reviewer that Indiana starts out as a strong, independent woman who won’t let her brothers dictate her life and is physically fighting to get away from Jonathan while he’s tying her up with rope to force her into marriage-no courting , not even asking her to marry him, didn’t care about how she feels about marrying him, then bam once she is tied up and the minister comes, just meekly goes along with the marriage and even signs her marriage license without being put under duress. Very disappointed in the sudden turn of events with Indiana’s sudden shift of attitude. I’ve enjoyed S.E. Smith’s other books because her women are strong without giving up who they are, but the way she wrote Indiana’s “non-romance” with Jonathan up to marrying him just didn’t make any sense and is really off putting. I won’t be reading this series any further.

⭐ I love time travel books. I love stories of strong women and strong men. Even though I gave this book three stars, doesn’t mean that I didn’t like it. I actually liked it a lot, but it wasn’t great, so three stars. What I didn’t like, and I don’t think this is a spoiler alert, is the way Jonathan got Indy to marry him. I thought that the way it was handled was not that far from how her brother treated her. Just because he thought he loved her, didn’t give him the right to treat her that way.I read some of the reviews that didn’t like the sex scenes…there were two of them! Skim if it bothers you, and others who didn’t like the swearing. I got to say that I thought some of it was okay, while I thought some was a little over the top and in 1869, people just didn’t talk that way. I thought they would be a little shocked.Overall, a good read. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a lighthearted time travel romance.

⭐ Disgusting. Romance is not about guys having sex with themselves. It’s not about hearing about how tight their pants are when they are turned on. the language and content is awful. And he almost rapes her, yet she goes along with the marriage. What happened to her being feisty and not wanting any man to control her. Couldn’t even contribute to read. Pretty much just porn.

⭐ I’ve read all of SE Smith’s books and loved them all. I follow her on facebook to be there when the next new book rolls out. But this book is a different read than what she’s written before but just as exciting, hot, funny and compelling as all her other stories.Have you ever known someone who should have been born in the past or future? I’ve known a few people like that and this story gives you the means to live in both the past and present at the same time. It has hot cowboys, and amazing women of course – that is Indiana Wild. The depth of her characters keeps you reading; the plot of the story is intelligent and well developed and makes it hard to put the book down. I know I read it in one sitting! And I love the scene where the Heroes are in the truck and the airplane!!! I was laughing out loud for those!And of course the romance is compelling, sweet and very hot!So if you haven’t read one of her books before pick this new one up and I’m sure you will be buying the others!

⭐ I spent my Saturday reading, “Indiana Wild,” and it really made my day.Indiana is the surprise daughter to much older parents who already havethree older sons…about twenty years difference. When her parentsand grandmother are suddenly killed in a car accident, Indy’s grandfathertakes over raising her and teaches her about ranching life.Indy loves her ranch and plans to stay there forever, until the death ofher beloved grandfather leaves her oldest brother in charge of everything,including her. Even being in her twenties, he finds a way to make her lookincompetent and tells her how her new life is going to be.Little does he know that Indiana Wild will only live life her way, even ifthat means getting lost in the mountains of Montana.With the help and directions from a longtime family friend,Indy sets out to escape her brothers plans and ends up at Spirit Pass…and unknown to her, another time.I absolutely loved this book! I found myself laughing out loud so many timesduring the story, especially at a certain roof top scene. The heat is also enoughthat I recommend a cold glass of water within reach. (Grins)I am such a huge fan of S.E. Smith, and each book she writes just reminds me of why.If you haven’t read her books yet, then you might want to start with Indiana Wild.If you like erotic paranormal, she has some awesome alien books in her series as well.

⭐ A Kindle freebie rescued from my freebie vault (probably got it b/c I recognised the author’s name from her Dragon Lords of Valdier series). Short review due to the holidays:3-star ‘split the baby’ rating. Pro = quick, readable story, engaging characters, and good set-up to new series. Con = technical execution still lacking in some areas, given POV whiplash, some minor plot holes & some parts reading like a rough draft. But thankfully, much better proofed than Ms. Smith’s early Valdier books.Ms. Smith is a talented storyteller. With tighter writing, think that she’ll become so much better! Will probably read book next in series–and really hoping that Maikoda’s book is #3. ^.^(Sexual content: some frank scenes but for me, not enough to be ‘erotica’.)

⭐ Wow! What a wonderful start to a great new series. This is a time travel novel (which I don’t mind) although the time travel aspect seems like more of a side note. Indy has been raised for ranch life…unfortunately she has family members that don’t necessarily agree with her lifestyle (and are money hungry) and decide to control her future. Being the strong and independant young woman she had been raised to be, she decides to live off the land for a little while and get away from those who are trying to run her life. While doing this she goes through a time tunnel and ends up in the old west (a majority of this book takes place in this era). While working on a ranch, she finds her love interest and then mayhem occurs. This is a wonderful start to this series and many characters were introduced that I am anxious to read more about. 🙂
