⭐ I was surprised to find STILL BLEEDING when I was looking around to see if the next Jack Nightingale novel had been published yet (it has). As far as I know, this is the first JN short story, and author Stephen Leather had said he was done with Nightingale after the trilogy, but then was persuaded by his publisher to agree to write two more. All of them are very, very good.In STILL BLEEDING Jack is hired by a Vatican priest dispatched to England to investigate a possible miracle in the form of in a little girl who exhibits the stigmata and claims to be able to see and talk to the Virgin Mary. Ssaid little girl also apparently cured her neighbor of leukemia. The family refuses to talk to the priest who is convinced that there are no such things as miracles, and so he hires Jack to find out what is going on.Not your usual Jack case, but what Jack discovers and how he handles it is certainly in keeping with the guy who figured out how to outwit demons in earlier novels. A quick and enjoyable read, and all the usual suspects are present, even if only in cameo bits. A fine way to spend an hour or so.Highly Recommended.J.M. Tepper

⭐ This time it’s an easy call for him. Love how he manages the situations. At least no bad demons this time.

⭐ Not one of my top Nightingale stories, but still a fun read nonetheless. Jack’s personality always comes to life with Stephen’s way with words, it’s always a pleasure to read his work.

⭐ I love this Jack Nightingale character. There aren’t many of them, and I hope Mr. Leather writes some more stories around this character. Any fan of Stephan Leather will discover a very different but very interesting departure from his normal writing around the Spider Shepherd adventure novels.A great read!Fred

⭐ I really enjoy the Jack Nightingale books and this short story is an especially nice break between books – not because it is light and fluffy – it’s not! but because it has all of the theme elements and a much less painful ending than usual. Enjoy.

⭐ kept my attention

⭐ This book kinda takes you down a path that is total not what you expected.it was interesting but you need a lot of imagination to make it work

⭐ Good short book with the infamous Jack Nightingale – though just OK to keep you waiting till the next real installment of the series

⭐ Controversial bad guy which I loved but the book was clearly written to whet the appetite for his latest novel. Not one of Stephen’s better shorts

⭐ When a young girl displays stigmata and heals her friend of leukemia she needs the audacity of Jack Nightingale to protect her. A very nice read.
