Description

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil knows how to throw a party. So it’s a natural choice to host the biggest spectacles in sports: the World Cup and the Olympics. To ensure that the games go off without a hitch, the organizers turn to Jack Morgan, head of the world’s greatest international security and consulting firm. But when events are this exclusive, someone’s bound to get left off the guest list.

Two years after the crisis nearly spilled from the soccer field to the stands, Jack is back in Rio for the Olympics. But when his most prominent clients begin to disappear, and bodies mysteriously start to litter the streets, Jack is drawn deep into the heart of a ruthless underworld populated by disaffected residents trying to crash the world’s biggest party.
With the world watching in horror, Jack must sprint to the finish line to defuse a threat that could decimate Rio and turn the games into a deadly spectacle. . . all before the games begin.

⭐ This is the continuing series of Jack Morgan, head of Private, a security firm. In this book, Jack works along side Brazilian authorities to protect the Rio Olympic games. As with all James Patterson novels, book has several storylines, moves at a quick pace. I enjoy the characters from previous Private novels also return. There are lots of twists and turns and hard to put book down.I’m a fan of Jack Morgan Private series. Looking forward to the next novel in the series.Definitely recommend book who enjoy mystery/thriller books. The James Patterson fans, like myself, will not be disappointed.

⭐ Excellent writing in time for the Rio Olympics. I would cancel my trip and be too scared to go after reading this book. Fast paced with great characters! I got to see a side of Rio that I never knew about. Another winner in the Private series.

⭐ I had to laugh at one of the reviews who said that they would cancel their trip to Rio for Olympics, that was my first thought when I started listening to this book, WOW what timing the Olympics are starting and there is no way in hell I would go after listening to this book and the descriptions of the poverty there. Besides that ANOTHER WINNER by JP and Mark and JAY SNYDER is the sexiest sounding Jack Morgan ever!!! I am hooked on the PRIVATE series and most all other JP books and the minute one is available for pre-order I’m on it. GREAT story, fast pace, scary and emotional ~ enjoyed it immensely!!!

⭐ so looking forward to his next book Bullseye. I am also going to begin reading his Jimmy books and the Book Shots. I highly recommend anyone who does know or heard of James Patterson to just pick up one of his books and began reading and do all that you can to really encourage your children as well as your spouse to begin their James Patterson journey especially the Cross books. Enjoy your read.

⭐ Best book so far in the Private series. Private has been hired as. security consultants for the World Cup (2014) and Olympics (2016). A deadly virus called Hydra killed two children and the World Cup organizer. The official denial angers Dr. Castro so much that he started plotting a major exposure of the virus at the Opening Ceremony.Reading this just as the Olympics were starring made this book very relevant. Only the virus being feared is Zika, not Hydra.I thought the book was going to be named “Private Rio.”

⭐ Not one of the better works in the PRIVATE series. It was fun to read descriptions of locales in Rio, but overall depressing. Seemed more like a political discourse on the awful lives of many in Brazil. Read was tedious and not stimulating enough to keep me from skipping large portions of the story to get to the end. At the end, I found I didn’t really miss much in between beginning and end.

⭐ I was hesitant to read this book after all the disappointing reviews I’ve read, but thinking about all the movies I’ve really liked that received poor to bad reviews, I decided to give it a chance. I am very happy that I did because I enjoyed this book immensely!! This is one of my favorite Private books (Private Berlin still holds the #1 spot!), and I look forward to reading any that I’ve skipped as well as any future additions. Needless to say I may still read reviews but I know that I will not pass judgement until I do the reading myself!. Great job, as usual, by James Patterson. I can’t wait to start my next one & I’m looking forward for future releases…

⭐ Jack Morgan, “Private’s” founder & CEO finds himself and his security team caught up in two tough assignments. One is the protection of two daughters of an American billionaire. The girls are on a mission to help various charities in Rio when trouble strikes. The other responsibility of Private is to help the local & national police with security protocols for the Olympic Games. Both assignments come with devastating consequences that weigh heavily on Jack and his staff. This is one of the more complex plot lines in the “Private” series and definitely a good read.

⭐ one o the most boring books I have ever rad by James Patterson(Was skipping pages) Couldn’t wait to finish it to read something else

⭐ The Patterson franchise is always dependable for a good suspense thriller, particularly the “Private” series. This one was particularly timely — I finished it just before the start of the 2016 Rio Olympics. This story made great use of the proximity of haves and have-nots in Rio, and the tension that exists within Rio’s favellas. (slums).Caught the author in one slip. He correctly had a new moon in the sky over Rio on one of the key evenings in the story, but he had it in the east at an hour when it would have been setting in the west.
