⭐This classic book written for grade school minds(circa 1962) was recommended to me by an NPR writer as the consummate beginners book on why math is the universal language of physics, science and all things relevant to our human civilization. This book is great for adults who want a basic grasp of such matters.After reading it you’ll see how things “all add up…”

⭐I had to buy this. As a kid we had this book in the house. I bought it for nostalgia. Great condition BTW

⭐I was 9 or 10 when I first received this book. It had excellent pictures especially considering it was first written in the 1950s. I loved it then, though I didn’t understand some of it (I probably still don’t). This book, along with Martin Gardner’s Mathematics, Magic, and Mystery made me into a math lover. I’ve never taken much math beyond algebra and trig in school but I’ve always enjoyed what I like to call, “The Dessert Part of Math.” Now I teach elementary school and my students get plenty of math from ideas in The Giant Golden Book of Math. Get this book for your child and both of you will enjoy the wonder and fun of math.

⭐This book is an excellent definition of mathematics, its’ history and importance. Excellent explanations. However if I am not mistaken there is a huge error about Fibonacci’s rabbits. It states each pair stopped breeding after the second month and goes into detail. However the diagram I believe is correct showing every pair producing from the second month on. If each pair stopped breeding after the second month the diagram would not be possible.

⭐I am using tjis in our homeschool as a living book for math in addition to our textbook. All of us are enjoying it.
