⭐ I’m a voracious reader with thousands of mystery novels under my belt, so to speak, but I’ve read only half a dozen short story compilations, being allergic to this art form. The ones I have read were by favorite writers of mine like Ed McBain and Lawrence Block, and I must confess very few of their stories left any kind of impression at all.Peter Corris is in a class of his own as far as short stories are concerned. They are well written, well researched, they move right along just like his Cliff Hardy novels do, and they have a point. Which is all too rare. And as Corris is not a prolific writer, I cherish whatever book of his I can find.
