From the Inside Flap Take a peek inside The Beast Prince! A mournful groan escaped her when he pulled the beast to a stop and slipped his leg over the neck of the animal so he could slide off. She immediately missed the warmth of his body. The chattering of her teeth could be heard over the sound of the rain. She didn’t complain when he reached up and pulled her off the back of the creature. A young boy appeared out of the shadows of what looked like a barn and ran over to grab the reins of Sharden’s horse. Sharden asked the boy a quick question, but Lisa missed it. She was too busy trying to bury her body in the warmth of Sharden’s arms.”They have a single room left,” Sharden replied. “I… don’t… car… care,” Lisa stuttered. “You… You… can… have… the… floor.”Sharden chuckled. “Thank you,” he retorted dryly.”No… no… no problem,” Lisa mumbled.

⭐ I love all of S.E. Smiths other books, but this one was just not very well thought out. When they said that the prince was locked up in the dungeons on the nights he changed into a werewolf, assumed it was because he became dangerous, a mindless beast, something like that. But no, the only thing that changed was his shape, he was still himself, in perfect control. Apparently the only reason to lock him up was because they were worried other people would be afraid of him and not accept him. Which is just stupid. He could have just stayed locked in his room those nights, or gone to stay at his secret hidden valley. I don’t see why they couldn’t have just spent the last ten years showing everyone that he really wasn’t any different, and that he was safe. Then, when the curse becomes permanent on his 25th birthday it really wouldn’t be that big of a deal. If everyone else really wouldn’t accept him, then there were plenty of other options, such as his secret valley, that would be better than expecting him to live out the rest of his life locked up in the dungeon. I don’t know why his parents would even consider such a thing. I’m usually a big fan of fairy tale retelling’s, especially beauty and the beast, but this one didn’t even make sense. This book get’s 2 stars instead of 1 because I did like Lisa Tootles.
⭐ Although the story is short, it’s different. It’s romantically soft. Perfect for any time; preferable rainy days, nice soft comfortable spot and a nice hot cup of coccoa. Lead character “Lisa Tootle” had made a wish upon a star, to find where she belonged. She was adopted, came into a big family which she loves very much. Yet, she was missing something. The family was reunited for Her grandmother’s funeral. They were sharing old stories around a campfire. To make life more interesting, others decided to play manhunt in a hay field. Lisa wonders off while trying to get away from being found too soon. She had found an old building with a lighted archway and steps through it. That’s when Her adventure begins.Prince Sharden had been cursed at birth, for the mistakes of his parents. He had paid a witch to find out how to break the curse. Waiting for the one who could break the spell to come through the portal, Lisa steps through the gateway to another World off magic. Everyone is afraid of the beast. Even his parents lock him up in a dark dungeon under the castle, every full moon.(๑・ω-)~♥” Positive Lisa believes life is what you make of it. Recommendable for Young Adults, a rainy day; or any other day you might need a smile.
⭐ I’ve read many of S. E. Smith’s SF works but this is the first fairy tale! The main character is beautifully drawn, a girl from our world pulled into another. I really liked her positivism and cheerful outlook! This novella didn’t allow much space to develop the story as much as I would have liked. It ended way too soon!
⭐ Very well written, but I expected nothing less when the story is written by my very favorite author -S. E. Smith-. I did notice that it said book 1, so I assuming there will be more? Because I have to say it was short. I have already read it several times, I just thought I already left a review. Again characters great, very sassy, strong female lead, with a gentle yet strong male lead role. Story flowed well and loved the surprise ending with her “mother and father”. Just great, now have to hang on for the next book! You definitely know how to hook your readers. Here I go again hanging by my fingers off this rock wall I always imagine myself on waiting for your next book! But I have to say it is worth it.
⭐ Ms Smith’s stories always draw me right in, and this was no exception. Quick to read, fast paced action and utterly charming in melding contemporary with renaissance era themes. Not 5 stars though, because the editing is not that great. Wrong words or wrong tense interrupt the flow of the story for me.
⭐ This is a new series and I can hardly wait for a new book to be out. Lisa Tootles goes through a doorway while she is playing a game of Manhunt with her cousins but now she will not be allowed to return to her side. Sharden a Prince has been cursed for something his parents did years ago and every full moon he turns into a monster, a witch has told him that a woman is going to come through that doorway and that woman will be able to break his spell. What happens when these two meet and Lisa has no real idea how to break the curse? Will they get a happy ending barwatts@telus.net
⭐ Fast paced and thourghly enjoyable characters are heartwarming and sweet story. A nice quick read for when you don’t have a lot of time to read! So check it out for your next read!
⭐ I would have been angry if I had paid $6.99 for the paperback. Typical beauty and beast story with no heart or substance. Basically, it was a short short story wrapped around sex that happened very quickly. The heroine is very easy going about going thru a magical gate and riding off immediately with a stranger. Just a stupid take on the story with nothing new to offer.
⭐ This is a quick read, but very enjoyable. Sometimes I want to read a paranormal romance, but don’t have much time. This story was just the thing I was looking for! The heroine had a wonderful attitude about life and what it brings you. The hero was thoughtful and caring. The sex was off camera, has a HEA, and no cliff hanger ending. I really hope that there will be more stories in this series, for those occasions when I just don’t have a lot of time to read.
⭐ It’s a unique retelling, kind of short and almost a little bit rushed but still good and I look forward to reading the next in the series. I wanna see if and how the next retelling book in the series will fit with this one.
