⭐ I want to first say I loved the driven trilogy so much that I had a problem with every book I read after and I believe Aced did not do the previous 3 justice the closure I was looking for from this book I feel like I did not get it here is why: 1st I feel like the drama was just way too much and it dwell too long on the video and the postpartum I know postpartum is a real issue but I would have prefer the story was veered more toward the situation with Zander than the half little mention in the epilogue. Don’t get me wrong I love me some Rylee and Colton but the drama and crying was a little too much and I felt like there was a lot of repeated emotions especially from Rylee. Also some things did not add up for me If Tanner now lives in the US then his girlfriend must be there as well and I believe she was pregnant so no mention of the baby… Glad to see Quinlan and her rocker boyfriend. Since this s 6 years after the last book I will assume that Becks and Haidie were together there was no real mention of them as a couple or whether or not they are even married. I know the focus was on Colton and Rylee but I don’t feel like I got the closure I was looking for with this book, Don’t get me wrong I still enjoyed reading it but still missing my closure. Colton and Rylee will always be one of my favorites and thank you for sharing them with us.
⭐ I have to confess. When I saw that there was going to be another book in this series, I felt nothing but skepticism. I’ve read and loved every book in this series but I almost passed on this one because I didn’t want it to be one of those publisher driven filler books put out just to make an extra buck off of us. This was absolutely not that! This book was absolutely necessary to the series and I almost don’t have words to express how I felt about it. A lot of people kind of sneer at us romance readers. They lump us into a category of bored, sexually unfulfilled housewives who hide behind smut and fantasy. And hell, maybe that is some of us but our love for this book proves that there is so much more to us as readers. It also proves that the authors in this genre are not just popular because they tantalize us with smoking hot sex, they are authentically talented writers who can tap into the emotional nuances that make us human.I wondered what Bromberg could do to return us to the lives of Colton and Rylee that would not feel like manufactured melodrama and angst. Don’t underestimate this author, trust me when I tell you she found a way to get the job done. I never ever expected what happened that completely unraveled Colton and Rylee, of course they didn’t either. The conflict was particularly compelling because it was a poignant commentary on the way women in this society are treated. I was angry and I was an emotional wreck. I was outraged by the unfairness and I was moved by Colton and Rylee as they struggled to cope and connect. This book is about how the past doesn’t stay in the past. Every single word and action has far reaching consequences for us and the present relies on our ability to work that stuff out. The triumph and defeat of the characters in this book is so well depicted, it is gut wrenching. And for those of us who are bored housewives or bored in whatever relationship and looking for a fantasy, this is a reminder that relationships are what we make them. When you read this book, you are reminded that happily ever after does not mean perfectly ever after. You only get to hang on to the “happily” if you fight for it every single day because some seriously imperfect ish is a life guarantee.I’m not going to say anything to spoil this reading experience for you. I’m just going to tell you that if you loved this series, this book is a necessary part of it. If you’re afraid like I was, don’t be. You will be happy you took this journery.
⭐ So when I first read the Driven series I refused to read this book because I was worried about what Colton and Rylee were going to have to face. I loved these characters so much that I just wanted them to get that happily ever. They had fought through so much already. However, I got a friend hooked on Driven and she convinced me to read this one. I’m so glad she did. It was amazing.Bromberg took these two characters that I completely love and gave us another side of each of them completely. You get to see Rylee fall this time and Colton pick her up and save her for a change. I feel like in the rest of the books Rylee is always saving Colton but this time we got to see that Colton is a knight in shining armor. He saves Rylee and it’s a beautiful thing to watch.I also loved seeing their marriage, relationship and family grow.
⭐ Cards on the table. This isn’t a spoiler – we know Colton and Rylee have a baby, Ace. We know they adopt Zander. Yep? Ok to move on then?Babies, cute little bundles of joy or screaming, attention seeking leeches? As a mother of 3 and a mother of an angel baby, I read myself in this book. The feelings, the thoughts, the doubts, the happiness I know them all.How would our hero Colton cope with fatherhood? Please give me a big round of applause for great dads of the world. I’m thinking David Beckham and Andy Westin. With Andy as his role model, Colton has it in the bag.Problems arise. Baddies cause problems. Answers are given. Circles are closed. The chequered flag is there waving.Loved it Ace to Zander.”Even the smallest of storms can cause damage, but how can you repair it when you can’t even see it coming?””Turn wounds into wisdom.””Sometimes the promises you make to yourself are the easiest to break.””Fear is temporary. Regret lasts forever.””I want to make memories. Good ones more than bad ones. Funny ones. Memorable ones. Precious ones. They will shift and change over time, each stage of our life together dictating what goes here.””It’s when the sky is darkest that you can tell which stars are the brightest.””Sometimes when you’re forced to close your eyes, everything becomes so much clearer.””We need to laugh as much as we breathe and love like we are the air that allows us to do both.”A fabulous finalé.Oh and I love a cameo appearance of a favourite from another book – hello Miss Laine “Shuttergirl” Cartwright.
⭐ I don’t even know where to begin. I love so many things about this series. Let’s start with Colton. This bad boy with serious childhood issues has stolen my heart. There are times when you want to beat him but yet hug him at the same time. Then there is Ry. This woman is one of the strongest characters I have ever pleasure of reading about. She is loving and strong. She is the perfect mother to boys that are not biologically hers. She has suffered so much loss but has so much love and is one of the most giving person. Together they make Ace that is just part of their perfect love. I absolutely cannot stress how much this series will touch someone. Perfect characters, perfect story line and so much love that it makes your heart fill full.
⭐ Where do I even begin? I’ve loved Colton since I first opened the pages of Driven and he caught Rylee falling out of that closet. What a happenstance beginning for those two!Arrogant. Rogue. Rebel. Not to mention the dirty talking playboy who met his match with Rylee Thomas. We know from Crashed that these two get their Happy Ever After but do we know what they had to go through to get there? ACED will answer this question and many more that we’ve had in our thoughts. Kristy feeds us with a golden spoon and you will forever have Colton & Rylee embedded into your heart. I FLOVED Aced!ACED is one of those books that you can NOT put down and I pretty much read it in one sitting…minus fixing dinner for my family! Priorities, ha! The intensity of the book is there from the get go. When a moment from the past…six years earlier to be exact, that was special, intimate and private for Colton and Rylee, comes to light in a highly public and humiliating way and their world come crashing down around them. The brunt of this is dilemma is directed at Rylee, pushing her into the public eye in a less than honorable way. The timing of this could not have been worse as Rylee is pregnant with Ace. It crushed me to see how this affected her. The loneliness, the despair, the heartbreak. We have swooned over Colton through all of the Driven Series but in ACED, damn if it doesn’t raise swooning to a higher level! We will see the man that Colton has become and the commitment he has to Rylee. The playboy is gone and the family man has stepped up, protecting what is his and fighting for the love of his life, his family and the Boys. Colton will shine like the North Star in a dark night and I can promise you are going to love him even more than you ever thought possible. So sit back, strap in and get ready for one hell of a heartfelt and emotional reads . I promise you will not be disappointed!! Filled with lots of suspense, action, tears… both happy and sad and of course the white hot heat between R & C too! This book will absolutely knock your socks off.Oh, and did I say I Floved ACED?
⭐ The return of Rylee and Colton! I think we can all be happy about that… while we have enjoyed a closer look into the stories of their friends and family it’s like coming home when we get to return to the original couple that started our Driven journey. Aced is the fourth Rylee and Colton book and it’s life after the checkered flag. Thank you K. Bromberg for giving me all the Colton I can get! This absolutely is not a stand-alone and at least the Rylee and Colton books must be read in order (Driven, Fueled, Crashed, Raced and then Aced). My heart beats for Colton. He’s everything you could ever want in a book-boyfriend. Misunderstood bad boy with a heart of gold who now lives for the woman he loves. He’s tatted and drives a race car for a living! What more could you ask?! My pulse beats for that man at the speed of Colton’s car while he’s whipping around the track. Rylee has been his rock and now we get to see another side of Colton while he returns the favor and lets Rylee lean on him for a while. More Colton is reason enough to read this story but yes there are many other reasons why too.Rylee is a strong, caring, and protective character. However, we see another side of her in Aced that only makes her more human, more relatable, and an even stronger character. Rylee struggles through some things and it take her some time to cope and deal. She’s not used to being in this position but she’s got Colton to be there for her. K. Bromberg does a wonderful job of bleeding emotion into the pages of her story. She creates depth with her words and the characters she breathes to life. There is nothing I can say bad about Aced. Hell, just having another story of theirs brought a smile to my face and it was an added bonus that this one was done right. The amazing supporting character we’ve come to love are all still there; Both, Colton and Rylee’s parents (LOVE Colton’s dad!), the siblings, the friends, the boys, and of course we re-meet Ace in this story. Often times I seem to loose interest in book series after about four or five books but I think I could continue on with this one forever. Each story brings new cards to the table. They are full of emotion, love, and steam.I got to the Driven party late but it’s a series that will stay with me forever. Colton is definitely one of my favorite book boyfriends and Bromberg knows how to wright female characters that I crave more of. There is no finish line to me with these stories because despite when the books stop… this will be a set of books I can and will always return to. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
⭐ The Driven Deries is one of my all time favorites, I have read it again and again and it still is never enough. This book is 6 years after. And let’s just say ALOT happens from good to bad to heartbreak to heart ache. I could not put it down.Colton has changed so much in the years but at the same time he still carries his darkness around with him and questions things. I love the way he loves Rylee she has changed him in ways I never thought possible, but he is without a doubt still SEXY and ARROGANT but that’s just who he is.Rylee I just love her so much. No matter what through thick and thin she will always love Colton and stand by him no matter the sacrifices he’s her #1Final thoughts: I wish this series would never end I’m so invested in these characters not just Colton and Rylee but the whole gang they are undiscrabable. This book was exactly like coming home after being away an absolute must read, I will forever be Cheering these characters on.”I race you”
⭐ I couldn’t wait to read (and listen via Audible) to this final in the Driven Series (although thankfully, Bromberg gives us 3 more in this collection to carry on the storyline with other characters), but at the same time wanted to do it slowly because I didn’t want the whole magic to end. Rylee and Colton’s story has been so . . . so . . . everything!! Highs, lows, mountaintop highs, deepest caves low, and everything in between. Rylee goes through so much, and after attaining the only thing she has left in her heart’s desires, she sinks to the depths of despair and has to climb her way up from the pit with the help of those who love her most and by her sheer strength and will. And Colton, who has become a number 1 book boyfriend and hero, the ever present, speed demon/eye candy hunk of man/tells it like it is, does not let Rylee down, and rises to be the man that was always within him but took a woman like Rylee to step forward. Ms Bromberg has easily made a fan out of me with this series. I have yet to read Raced, but I’m one-clicking it after I write this review, and then will work through the 3 “afterthought” companion books. I do wish this series was offered in Kindle Unlimited, but alas, I had to break the piggybank. It was highly worth it. The series, and this conclusion book, gives you everything you look for in a romance novel, and even some you never thought you wanted. I applaud Ms Bromberg for this debut series, and wish her every best on a wonderful literary career!!!
⭐ Kristy Bromberg WOWS me once again. What can I say that will truly do this book or Kristy Bromberg justice? I’m having a hard time finding just the right words to express how much I really loved this book. Aced surpasses all my expectations and then some. For me, Aced is about truly honoring and living out the vows of marriage. For better or worse, in sickness and health…sticking it out when the going gets tough and you don’t think you can take one more thing. It’s about selfless love and support of family and so, so much more.Okay, let’s start with the negative…the ONLY negative is that I’m so very sad to let go of Colton & Rylee. I could read about them and their family forever. Finishing Aced was bittersweet for me because as good as it was, I’m just not ready to say goodbye. Now, the positives. There’s just WAY too many positives to mention. I really wish I was better with my words so I could properly express how much I enjoyed reading Aced. First, it was absolutely worth the wait! Once again, Kristy, brings out every emotion possible. The feel-good-moments, the angst, the tears of joy and sorrow, the laughter, the anger, and the sexy times…every single emotion. Kristy is an AMAZING writer and through her words, her readers are able to really know her characters and feel what they are going through. She has this brilliant way with words that enables us to visualize her characters, scenes, interactions, etc. so vividly in our minds like a movie playing in our heads. Most obvious in this final book is the growth of Colton Donovan as a man, a husband, a father, a son. I was in awe at just how far this character has come since the beginning of Driven. Still cocky as ever (which I love), but he discovers the strength within himself to be the husband and the light for Rylee when she truly needs him to be HER lifeline. As I was reading, I was reminded of a time in Crashed when Becks says to Rylee, “That lifeline thing goes both ways…Use it. Use him. He won’t break if you do…but you just might if you don’t.” And, that statement means more in Aced than it ever did before! Luckily, like in all the other Driven books, we are treated to several other impactful words of wisdom throughout Aced whether it’s from Becks, Andy, Dorothea, Rylee’s Mom, Haddie…you name it! All “quoteworthy”.I could go on and on with my review but it would become a lot of rambling I’m afraid. To sum up my review, I LOVED Aced and if you loved Colton & Rylee and the rest of the gang in the other Driven books, then you are going to love Aced! Colton & Rylee truly do come full-circle! Kudos to you Kristy. Well done. You did not disappoint. You did Colton & Rylee good!
