⭐ This came up as an ad on my Kindle. From a quick glance the reviews looked good, price rate was not free or low, and the synopsis was right up my alley. When I read the prologue, I thought…surely this is a joke. This guy isn’t serious…And then I read on. And on. And on. I kept hoping for some kind of aha moment. A moment of turn around, or a saving grace for his awful character, that made me believe he wasn’t just a complete douche. That never came. I am a pretty easy-to-please romance reader. I love it all, rom-com, friends to lovers, mafia families, sports romance, cowboy romance, you get the picture: I read several books a week and thoroughly enjoy them all. I just cannot get on board with the leads personality. His thoughts are flat out disgusting and I couldn’t even tolerate reading another page. I am at a loss for how all these 5 star reviews came in? Did I miss something? Do women seriously like men who think this way?! “Im twenty-eight, single, rich, hot, and a gentlemen. Like it’s a surprise when I get laid.” And then…”…because she wanted to ride my ride again. Of course she did. Without thinking he says he has a fiancé, not just any fiancé but his best friend Charlotte.Things are going well, but Spencer never expected that Charlotte would proposition him, she’s attracted to him, and it’s been a while, so while there being fiancé’s she wants them to be more. They set ground rules, it’s only for the week while she’s his fiancé, then they go straight back to being friends. Then Charlotte list the last rule – no falling in love. Spencer told a little white lie he told them that he got engaged the night before. Now he has to talk to Charlotte into helping him out by going along with the lie. Charlotte is somewhat driving Spencer crazy from kissing him in the park to get a point across. The couple was having dinner with everyone and the subject of where to have the wedding comes up. They had to spend more time together until the papers for jewelry store are signed and then they will break up. Things are going along well they were really pulling this off but things take a turn. ⭐ Fact… I was in desperate need of a feel-good romance after I finished my latest angst-ridden read, and my book besties recommended BIG ROCK. They’d actually been begging me to buddy read this with them for a while, and since it had been languishing on my kindle for ages, I thought: “Sure…why not.” Verdict? Best. Book Decision. Ever!! This was actually my first Lauren Blakely title, but after falling head over heels for this shimmering gem of a romance, it certainly won’t be my last. I have read countless “best friend pretend engagement” books over the years, but I must say that is, hands down, the sweetest, sexiest and most irreverently charming confection I have ever read! I cherished everything about it… The pretend engagement gone horribly awry. Witty banter. The green gummy bears. Spencer and Charlotte’s sparkling repartee and hot scorching chemistry. And OMG? “Snuffaluffagus?” Cutest pet name I’ve ever heard, and I just melt every time I think of it!This book was just such a joy to read…made me swoon and giggle with girlish delight and plain ol’ feel good! There was a lot of heart in this book, but it was also chock full of cheeky humor with classic catchphrases that I will never forget. Probably my favorite? “Happy wife= Happy life.” Perfecto! In my opinion, Lauren Blakely nailed the hero POV in this book. Nailed it! What I loved about this hero is that that sure, he has an over-inflated male ego and is kind of fixated on a particular part of his male anatomy, but underneath all the smug macho bluster beats a heart of pure chivalrous gold. He truly is single, hot, rich AND a consummate gentleman. Imagine that?! A handsome stud who gets the girl by being…NICE! And holy hotness…Spencer sure knows how to satisfy his woman in the bedroom. He was such a generous, doting, ATTENTIVE lover that I was actually jealous of the heroine. Like seriously jealous! And sweet, sassy Charlotte was his perfect match in every way. They are just so darn adorable together and their back and forth banter was hysterically funny. There was just something about this couple…the way they clicked so perfectly… finished each other’s sentences…secretly pined for each other…and just GOT one another’s goofy sense of humor that made my heart flutter.I also loved Spencer’s bromance with Nick (Mister Orgasm himself!) and am chomping at the bit to read his upcoming romance with Spencer’s flame-haired jokester sister Harper! Oh and to round off this colorful cast of characters, Spencer’s indulgent, long-suffering dad is indeed the “coolest dad in the universe.” The plot was just sheer perfection from start to finish… As for the ending? EPIC! I laughed, and yes, cried, and it was just flooded with so many heartfelt emotions I couldn’t help but beam with joy.If it seems like I’m shamelessly gushing…it’s because I am. And Sorry Not Sorry…I make no apologies! I simply cannot rave enough about BIG ROCK. It was pure escapist, hedonistic fun and Ms. Blakely did not miss a single beat! So if you are in the mood for a sweet, entertaining and sizzling hot romance with a plethora of warm, fuzzy feels, BIG ROCK is sure to put a dazzling smile on your face!

⭐ This book is an incredible love story that had me captivated from the very beginning. A friends-to-lovers romance. The storyline is flawless, had depth, was very relatable and the twists and turns along the way were a rollercoaster of emotions. The chemistry between Spencer and Charlotte is undeniable and electric. Their flirty, witty banter was very well-written and had me laughing often. The connection they share is deep and I loved watching them fall for one another. I could feel every emotion the characters experienced — the butterfly moments, the heart-breaking moments, those moments that melted my heart and those that stole my breath. The supporting characters were equally well-written and I really liked the family moments that truly show the meaning of unconditional love and support. This love story is poignant, powerfully raw, very emotional, romantic and incredibly sexy. I highly recommend reading this book!!!

⭐ I have yet to read a Lauren Blakeley book that I did not like and this one is no exception. This is probably one of my favorites that I’ve read so far. I started with Forbidden Nights and ever since then became a fan.I love this story line of a friends to lovers romance and the comedic banter between Spencer and Charlotte in this book was great and makes you laugh and love their characters. Basically Spencer needs Charlotte to pretend to be his fiancee to help convince the family oriented buyer of his dad’s jewelry store that he’s not the playboy everyone thinks he is so he will buy his dad’s store and his dad can retire. Problem is now he has to convince Charlotte to go along with this lie or he’ll have to admit to his dad and the possible buyer of his dad’s jewelry store that he made up the whole thing. Which could do even more damage than his playboy image would’ve done. Charlotte’s admittedly not a good liar and doesn’t see how she can pull off lying to his whole family plus the family of the buyer of his dad’s jewelry store but agrees to give it a shot to get her cheater ex boyfriend off her back after another desperate attempt to get her back. It’s a cute yet sexy story of Spencer and Charlotte slowly falling each during this charade of playing fake fiancee to one another. Can they be best friends and lovers? What happens when fake feelings turn real? It was funny but also didn’t skimp on the heat between the two of them. It was a fun read and oddly enough the little part that involved his sister Harper and his friend Nick left you hoping they get a story of their own. Which come to find out just happens to be the story in Mister O. Next on my list of Lauren Blakeley books to read for sure! If you haven’t read any books by Lauren Blakeley read this and I promise you won’t be disappointed! Her stories are written really well and you won’t wanna put the book down! You’ll be another fan by the end of reading this.

⭐ This is the story of Spencer, a bar owner who loves life especially women but needs to be respectable to help out his dad who’s selling his business to a conservative man, enter Charlotte, his best friend and business partner who agrees to be his fake fiancee after he accidentally told his dad and possible new owner that they just got engaged. This story is different in the fact that the whole story is told from Spencer’s point of view which gives you a glimpse into the strange goings on in a man’s mind. Charlotte agrees to help out Spencer after her ex, who has been leaving nonstop gifts of all types, refuses to leave her alone. They have several ground rules like no sex, no falling in love, they’ll stay friends, and it will end in about a weeks time. They both feel bad about deceiving everyone especially his family who are very nice. Then they both start breaking the rules of the deal which ends up with some extremely HOT, HOT sex and it turns out they both actually care for each other, but are determined to both see it out and have great sex in the meantime. This book is funny, different, has well thought out chemistry, numerous but excellent sex scenes and a different take on best friends who fall for each other all told from Spencer’s point of view. Excellent read!!

⭐ Loved this latest book by this author. She’s one of my favs. The friendship between Spencer & Charlotte has been continuous thru the years. Faking an engagement? Can they pull it off? They know so much about each other, likes, dislikes, get along so well & are business partners. Will the New York City Playboy hang up his hat? From the beginning, he thought that after a week, he could walk away from it. Guess the surprise is on him. The sub characters in this book added to this story of discovering what love feels like even when you’re not expecting to find it. I would love to see a story about Spencer’s sister, Harper & his best friend, Nick. Couldn’t put this book down!

Set in Manhattan she utilizes many Big Apple landmarks and amenities and gives her stars an added layer of sophistication. The banter is entertaining, Spencer’s cat Fido is a hoot and the love scenes are smoking hot making this BFF to Forever Love a must read on any romance lover’s list.The audible edition narrated by Sebastian York is the perfect way to experience the read. With his deep sexy voice Sebastian’s perfect for Spencer and he’s good at not only the female voices but also the subtle inflections and setting an impeccable mood.
