Description

Con artist Austin Shaw’s been in disguise so long he’s not sure where his fake identities end and he begins. Now that he’s been strong-armed into working for a specialized undercover unit working with the Chicago police—criminals with unique “skills”—the last thing he needs is to risk his iron control. Especially when it comes to a certain stunningly sexy hacker who tempts him with every look of disdain.

Polly Banks will never, ever trust a con man. On the trail of a ruthless crook who destroyed the only family she’s ever known, Polly is unnerved by the shadow who follows her every move. The one who makes her pulse pound and breath short with lust. Austin. He’s infuriating, enigmatic, and pure sex appeal, and she’s determined to resist him.

But an untrustworthy man of disguise can become anyone he wants…including a man that Polly must trust if she’s to escape their dangerous game alive.

User’s Reviews

“Hot alpha heroes and the heroines that bring them to their knees…Tessa Bailey’s books are pure perfection.” -Elle Kennedy, New York Times Bestselling Author”Sit back, buckle up and get ready for Boiling Point — guaranteed to be your new favorite ride, err book in the Tessa-verse.”-Laurie, The Literary Gossip”When I finished, I didn’t want to believe the book had ended. I was so wrapped up in the story of a con and a hacker. Tessa Bailey hit it right on the head with Boiling Point.” -The Book Cellar

⭐ It’s easier for me to write reviews on what I didn’t like instead of what I liked so bear with me. I liked this one better than Crashed Out, Tessa Bailey’s release prior to Boiling Point, but I feel like she’s relying too much on sex to convince her readers that the main characters have a connection. I want books with a plot, interspersed with hot, dirty sex, instead of hot, dirty sex interspersed with a plot. Austin’s dirty talk borders on crude and rude instead of arousing. I found myself speed reading through the last 30 percent or so of the book because it began to drag for me. I am still a loyal Tessa Bailey fan, and I will read her stuff no matter what. She hooked me with her Line of Duty series and even though I gave this one only 3 stars, I can’t wait for Henrik’s story.

⭐ MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS – I’m surprised at some of the poor reviews – I absolutely love this series! Austin’s story is completely different, he’s a con man & master of disguise – the only way to reach out to hacker Polly is to let her have complete control & good Lord it is hot! Two scenes in particular will be stuck in my head on repeat – they are in a dark corner of a club and Polly lifts his shirt & makes him hold it in his teeth so her hands can fondle his spectacular body, and then when his fantasy comes true when he flips her upside down so they can pleasure each other, bracing her back against the wall. Very, very hot! Not much of a story, the pursuit of a criminal that they are both after is downplayed while they learn how compatible they are in the bedroom. Another plus is that Austin talks dirty like no one I’ve ever known. His London background might be the reason why but wow, he calls Polly “mistress” & let’s her know that his body reacts to her 24/7 & he can’t get enough. I liked in the end that Austin asks for Polly’s help to get over his past & even though it means dealing with women that Austin has used, Polly agrees to do it for their relationship. This has been a fabulous series so far & I can’t wait to read about Henrik, a new character added in this story, an ex-cop & ex-fighter who laid his career on the line to help a beautiful woman he hardly knows. Can’t wait!

⭐ Con artist Austin Shaw lives his life behind so many disguises and one day he doesn’t know who he really is anymore. He has been forced into working for the police helping them take down bad guys which helps save his soul. He ,never really wanted to do this but ended up having to be forced into helping the police but deep down Shaw is glad he can take scum off the streets and make them better for his small family and do something right for a chance .When Austin meets Polly, he realizes his whole life has changed in that one meeting –Polly is a computer hacker who is using her skill for good, not bad and she meets Austin and finds he uses his skills for good as well–Love at first Hack {smile}. At first neither knew what to make of each other but slowly they got to know one another and the chemistry for Polly built while for Austin was already there. Polly is on a downward swirl of revenge against someone who hurt someone she loved and the only person who can get her to her and make her at least see some reason is Austin. The twist and turns in this story along with the suspense and angst play out and my heart bled for the MCs because of the things they had done in their past to survive. Now they take the skills they learned or had to learn and save people. They are good people and the sexual chemistry is so extremely HOT between them, I was waiting for my kindle to explode with the sexual heat. Austin is such an alpha male who wants to control his woman while Polly is independent and fiery ; she loves and gives with her heart. The outcome of the story will stay with you and I cannot wait for whats next in series. My rating: 4.6 stars *****A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for my honest review*

⭐ I have read all of Tessa Bailey’s books. All of them. There’s a special connection to everyone of her characters when you pick up one of her stories. With that being said, Boiling Point, get’s it all. Throne, crown, and jewels. This story, the third in the Crossing the Line series, is packed with so many various emotions, it will leave you in a book hangover. When Ms. Bailey began the series, there was a basic outline of the characters and their roles. Austin Shaw is the professional con artist. The man with many personalities, disguises, and characters.Basically he can anybody he needs to be to get what he needs. You’ll love them all, it’s impossible not to. However, the man that grabs your heart and guts you, is the man behind the thousand faces. Austin Shaw is a sexy, intriguing enigma.Then.. along came Polly. The sexy woman behind the screen who has a mask of her own, manages to peel Austin to his core. These two will tear your feelings and sheets all in one pull. They’re connection is just too deep and intense for words.Tessa Bailey took Boiling Point to a feverish level. This book is on a whole level all on it’s own.Emotional. Sexy. Intense.Read it!

⭐ Trope: criminals forced to work with each other, revengeSlow Burn level: 35% dirty talk-hero is a con man, now working with police, cocky/confident, dirty talker- heroine is a hacker, now working with police. Good intentions. Wants revenge-the story got a little boring and hard for me to stay engaged- sex scenes- HEATrigger warnings: mention of suicide, gun violence

⭐ This book was a little tough for me to really get into. For the first 30% I struggled to make a connection to either character. Things started to gel around the 40% mark, and the IT happened.Chapter 13. Seriously, this was the turning point for me. It was at this point that it all meshed together and I fell for these characters. Their attraction to one another, their chemistry, their vulnerabilities all came together and made sense. The way Austin gave Polly what she needed was a little different than what I have come to expect from Tessa’s men, but wow, did it ever work for this couple! Tessa’s trademark “dirty-talking hero” is absolutely present, even though Austin plays a bit of a different role.I really loved that both Austin and Polly saw right through the other’s mask and were able to power through and trust where neither had trusted before. This is another fantastic addition the the Crossing the Line series.

⭐ I have never read a Tessa Bailey book and didn’t absolutely love it… same goes for Boiling Point. Do yourself a favor and read all of the Crossing the Line novels. You don’t need to read them first or in order, but the experience will be richer for it if you do. This is an incredible group of characters who are equal parts shady and endearing. You will cheer them on as they move from a life of crime to the right side of the law… finding love somewhere in between.Boiling Point is about the relationship between a con man and a computer hacker. Used to hiding in plain sight, they rely on disguises and deception for a payday. You really need to watch Austin and Polly open up – how and why and HOW!! Again, if you are familiar with Tessa Bailey’s work, you know you are in for an original plot, entertaining characters, witty dialogue, steamy romance with a heaping side of DIRTY TALK!, and with these cons/ cops/ baddies, you also get mystery, suspense, and action. SO GOOD!!!

⭐ While part of a series, can be read as a standalone. This continues the team of Chicago ex-con misfits and focuses on Polly and Austin. Polly is a hacker extraordinaire but to avoid jail time, was asked to help out the Chicago PC. Austin is a true con, conning people out of their money and also part of the misfit team. Annndddd…he’s British. Polly and Austin don’t realize they have a common enemy. Both feel the insane attraction to one another… and if there’s one thing Tessa Bailey can write, it’s sex scenes that burn up your ereader! I absolutely loved how cocky and arrogant Austin, and how f’ing hot he talked. Let me tell ya, ladies. He didn’t hold back. But… I didn’t love the whole “if it pleases you” thing. I dunno, just not my cup of tea (pun intended.) 4 stars.

⭐ Tessa Bailey is a one-click author for me. Even though she publishes more quickly than most authors, I’m still always on pins and needles waiting for the next one to come out.The reason Ms. Bailey is a one-click author is that she NEVER disappoints. Her characters are always interesting and clever, and the chemistry between the hero and heroine is off the charts in every book. Boiling Point is no exception.Boiling Point has a bit of enemies to lovers in it as well as a big helping of redemption for both characters. Ms. Bailey totally delivers on scorching hot love scenes (as usual) as well as plenty of emotion and love – the part that so many other modern romance authors sometimes forget. My only complaint is that they are always over too soon. Now I’m back to waiting for the next one! Tick, tock, tick, tock…..

⭐ Spoiler Alert!!!Tessa Bailey, I just finished Boiling Point and I have to say, I was a little worried when I realized that Austin would submit to Polly in the bedroom; you know how much I love a dominant man. However, you pulled it off and how!!! I never thought I could enjoy a romance where the hero wasn’t completely alpha…inside and outside the bedroom, but I totally loved the power exchange between Austin and Polly, and it didn’t take away from his masculinity. Submitting yourself to someone else, giving up control, takes a lot of strength and trust. You wrote this love story beautifully. 5 HUGE STARS!!! I LOVED it!!!
