Description

“The books in Michelle Fox’s Huntsville Pack Series are sexy paranormal romances full of twists that will keep your heart on edge.” NY Times bestselling author Milly Taiden. When you’ve lost your wolf, how do you get it back? ‘Jane Doe’ has no idea who she is or why she wakes up in a…nursing home? Full of shifters? She may not be old, but they say she is a shifter—only her wolf is MIA and she’s in some kind of trouble she can’t remember to boot. And there’s this guy, Ryder. Something about him that makes her tingle in all the right places. If only she knew whether or not she already had a mate, why she’s been stashed in shifter ‘retirementville’ and where the hell her animal half went. What if your wolf picked a mate you couldn’t trust? Former pro-fighter Ryder Chase plans to get away from his no-good pack alpha, Mason, and forge a new life for himself, but there’s one little problem named Jane. Ryder’s wolf wants her more than he wants to breathe. Mate. Mine. Finding his mate would be good news except for the part where she knows Mason. Is Jane mixed up with his alpha’s dark side and everything Ryder wants to leave behind? Full length, stand alone novel from NY Times and USA Today bestselling author Michelle Fox. No cliffhangers! Lots of plot!

⭐ Let’s just jump in, shall we?There were a few things I liked, loved actually, about this story. The first is that Ryder and Jane/Lia’s relationship begins as friendship. They meet at the nursing home through Ryder’s grandmother, Tillie. There were little things–tingles, breathlessness, awareness–that passed between them that made me hoping they would eventually make the move from friends to lovers. They did but it was a long, slow process.I think if this were written in a style I’m more familiar with in the paranormal genre–meet, mate, work through issues later–the drawn out pace would’ve irritated the crap out of me. But there were existing problems that had to be dealt with first, issues that couldn’t be ignored by the characters or by me. That’s the second thing I enjoyed. Ms. Fox took the long way for every problem this couple faced. Jane/Lia’s amnesia. Ryder’s murderous Alpha. Jane/Lia’s missing sister, Adele, which she eventually figures out is why she’s in Tennessee. Ryder’s desire to form his own pack and the opposition he faced. And while these things may not seem connected, they were. Ms. Fox made the dots and connected them each with precision and thoroughness this reader is ever so grateful for. There is one more thing I want to point out about this story. It deals with addiction (drug and fang) and slavery. The first I hadn’t heard unheard of. Paranormal characters are often shown as nearly invincible. They absorb and burn through drugs and alcohol quickly because of their incredibly fast metabolisms, but in this story drugs are actually created that can, and do, get shifters high. They have the same during effect as regular drugs do on humans and the same end effect: addiction. This is the reality Adele lived with, why she ran from home, why she went to Tennessee in the first place. It’s there the slavery was introduced.I’ve read about vampire slaves, humans who willingly let vampires feed/bleed them. But in this story, the slaves sold to the vampires are shifters addicted to drugs, shifters who wouldn’t be missed if they disappeared. These shifters traded one addiction for another, drugs for fangs.I know it’s fiction. I know that. I tried to hold onto that fact when I read through that part of the story but it was so hard. Reading what happened to the slaves, what Adele went through, brought me to tears. Her recovery wasn’t easy and my heart broke when the man who fed from her was forced to leave her. He wasn’t a bad man. He had a part to play and he played it well though his intention was never to treat Adele like the other slaves were treated. And when he renounced his hold on Adele, when he away, his parting words were devastating: “The living are never ours to keep” (Kindle, Loc2686).I can only hope he’ll be back, maybe to rekindle whatever was between him and Adele? It’d be awesome to see her get a happy ending after the hell she’d been through.I haven’t read the other books in this series. This reads as a wonderful standalone. It’s action-packed, suspenseful, mysterious. Problems are handled. Goals are met. Lives saved. Memories restored. Love created. A terrific story I enjoyed and hope others do too.

⭐ You will be glued to the pages right from the start!. The storyline is intense and stunning!. The characters are amazing!.A young woman who they call Jane wakes up in a shifter nursing home. The nurses tell her she is a shifter and had been severely injured. Jane had a head injury plus she had a severe cut on her leg , and almost bleed out. The Sherrif did not know who she was and sense shifters do not have hospitals he brought her to the home. Here she meets a spunky elderly shifter named Tillie. Tillie takes her under her wing ,and then sets out to match her up with her grandson Ryder. Ryder is a former shifter MMA fighter. The new Alpha of his pack Mason is a crazy evil wolf!. Ryder makes plans to form his own pack ,only Mason plans to stop him. When Ryder meets Jane as in Jane doe he has an instant attraction!. Tillie tells them their secents match lol. Later a woman turns in Jane’s purse and they find out Jane’s name is really Lia . And it seems Mason had something to do with what happened to her! Mason is more messed up then any one ever thought. There is lots of mystery, suspense, humor, and scorching hot romance in this book!. It is stunning and exciting to read!. In my opinion it is a 5-star plus plus book you will love!.

⭐ Such a deep story! Michelle Fox starts with an innocent, innocuous scene, a nursing home and a delusional woman thinking she is seeing monsters running around. Then it starts to build and it got so deep that I could not put it down because I thought I might miss something….in a book….I know, i know, i have issues. But I really could not stop reading this book! Every time I thought I was getting to a place where it was quiet and I could return to it the next day, some other level of craziness developed and I had to read on! There are levels to this story that will not be resolved in these pages. There are twists that I did not see happening until we were in the middle of the scene. The characters were amazing and were intertwined with each other so deeply that their interactions and dialogue felt natural and their growth seemed to be dependent on the others. Even though Jane didn’t know who she was, she knew enough about herself to be fearless in her search for answers. Ryder, although described as trying to start his own pack did not seem very Alpha like at the beginning of the story, but I kind of thought that Jane pulled it out of him, made him a better wolfman, so to speak. Tillie was formidable and her character epitomized the old lady that I want to be, especially if I could be an old wolf. When the search for Jane’s sister began, the story got wicked dark but still continued to pull me deeper. The character of Marie the Healer just creeped me out and confused me. I still can’t figure out if she is a good or bad character. by the time the story ended, I could see where there are definite windows where the story can be expanded through and I look forward to reading them as soon as Michelle Fox can write them!

⭐ Oh I just loved this story it was so full of surprises for me. A retirement home, MMA fighting, amnesia and fated mates. This story is full of action and romance. It will be a must have read as far as I am concerned and I was si happy to discover it in a price that I could afford.Lia is on the hunt for her sister Adele when she gets into trouble and loses her memory and her wolf. Ryder is a former MMA fighter forced n to retirement because he never loses. He plans on forming a pack of his own because he doesn’t like what Mason has done to his pack and he would rather leave than challenge Mason for the pack. But Mason is involved in bad things and he refuses to allow Ryder to form a pack of his own.In the midst of all that angst Tillie Ryder’s grandmother has introduced him to Lia who is drawn to him fully not understanding why and Ryder is also drawn but tells his wolf that forming a new pack, Tillie and dealing with Mason comes before his feelings for Lia.That is just the background that Ryder and Lia must struggle through to reach an understanding between them. There is so much more that goes on in this action packed romance that you just love unveiling this story as fast as your heart allows.

⭐ Oh my gosh what a fantastic story! Our heroine wakes up in a nursing home, excuse me “retirement center”, screaming about shifters being real, only to find out that not only is she too young to be there, but she IS a shifter! Enter in a conniving grandma, a sister who is in constant need of saving, vampires, an alpha that, well, should not be, and a sexy MMA shifter, and, well, if I tell you any more, Michelle Fox will be mad at me because I will be writing the entire story here! Suffice to say, you NEED to read this book! Two thumbs up and if I had more hands there would be more thumbs up!

⭐ I was given a ARC of The Alpha’s Fight : Huntsville Pack book 3 and in return, I just have to give a honest review.Jane wakes up in a nursing home and she has no idea who she is or how she got there. The sheriff department has given her the name, “Jane Doe,” since they, also, don’t know who she is. The nursing home is for shifters, when Jane finds out all of this it further confuses her. Then one day, Jane mets one of the resident’s grandson, Ryder Chase, who Jane feels a attraction to him. Jane doesn’t know if she has a mate or where her animal half has gone to. So many unanswered questions that will be answered in this fantastic book.Michelle Fox has written a awesome book that is very compelling with mystery and intrigue that will keep you entertained throughout the book. The characters are very strong and the storyline is excellent. Michelle Fox is one of my favorite writers because she puts all her heart into the book. !!

⭐ This is a great standalone addition to the Huntsville Pack series, featuring the Crescent Pines Retirement Center. Ryder, a champion fighter, has returned home after leaving the circuit. He and his grandmother, Tillie, the wife of the deceased alpha and Crescent Pines resident, have made plans to start up a new pack. They have purchased three hundred acres and sent in their application to the council, but their Alpha, Mason, sees their actions as a threat to his own standing. Meanwhile, a young woman has been admitted to the Pines. She was badly injured and has no memory of her past or who she is. Tillie makes introductions between Jane Doe and Ryder, and they are attracted, but neither are in a position to act on it. Then Mason makes his move.

⭐ The Alpha’s Fight was a great roller-coaster of a read. I loved the surprising turns; they kept me reading even when I should have been sleeping. “Jane” (who may or may not find out her identity — I’m not going to tell you) was a really interesting character who, despite all the drama and stress, handles herself well and proves her strength. Ryder is a great character, trying to do the best for everyone. But, honestly, the secondary characters Tillie and Marie may have been my favorites. They seriously added to the book. It was cool to have Talon, Jackson, and their mates return. Now I’m having to reread the first two books just to get more of them!

⭐ She didn’t know who she was and all these people kept telling her she could shift. Who could she believe? Tillie was also in the nursing home and she believed her grandson Ryder could help. But Ryder had a lot on his plate. He was trying to avoid his Alpha while waiting for permission to start a new pack. He really didn’t need his grandmother to start match-making now. But here he was buying underwear for Jane Doe, talking to the Sheriff as about her, and his wolf wanted her bad. Too bad the Mason, the pack Alpha was going to find him first.
